How to find people on Twitter

There are a number of ways for you to find people on Twitter. The most common being Twitter People Search.Once you login you can use this feature. You can also use Twitter Search, or you could use Twitter Address Book import.

If you know the user name of the person you want to find you can navigate directly to the person profile using the URL. It would look something like this http://twitter.com/username. So if you want to find us on Twitter all you would need to do would be to use our username which is "Sociolatte" in the URL. http://twitter.com/sociolatte.

1. Twitter People Search. To use people search on Twitter you would need to click on the 'Find People' link on the top navigation bar. If you do not find what you looking for you can use the options on the side bar to dig deeper.

2. Twitter Search. Twitter search is a little different from Twitter People Search. Using Twitter search let's you find people mostly by interest. So you can use this feature to find people by keywords locations, interests and more. So if your looking for what people are saying about the latest movie in town or current celebrity gossip then this is the place to search for it. You can also use location based search to find people tweeting near your geographical location. 'locationn:cityname'.

The results that come up can be translated into English and you can even tweet these results. To dig deeper simply use http://search.twitter.com/advanced.

3. Find friends and colleagues from other networks on Twitter. Twitter can check you address books to see if any of your contacts are currently on Twitter. You can access your Gmail, Yahoo and AOL to see if any of your contacts are on Twitter. Once you find who your looking for you can choose to follow them or simply follow one of them.



To import an address book simply click on the 'Find People' link on the top navigation bar. Click on the 'Find Friends' tab as shown below. So if you have a Gmail, Yahoo or AOL address. You address would already be pre-filled and the right tab selected. If it is not but you want to search one of these email addresses that belong to you. Simply fill in the required details. Fill in your email ID and password to begin the address book import.

Once your search is complete you can choose to follow all your contacts using the 'Follow All' button or follow individually by clicking the grey 'Follow' button that appears beside your contacts name and info.

If you click 'Follow All' and then decide you would like to stop following some people you would need to do that manually later. By 'unfollow' button beside that contacts name and info.

Mafia Wars: Most Wanted

Mafia Wars is definitely adding new features to the game and for now Mafia Wars may start following story lines and webisodes.


The story line has been launched in Mafia Wars Paris and all the details have still not been revealed. 



Paris, the 'City of Lights,' home of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower is also the birthplace to one of the world's most infamous criminals. Having eluded the FBI, MI-6, and the KGB, the Shadow is on the loose and wreaking havoc on the streets. Preview this criminal mastermind's first act of vengeance in the newest Mafia Wars webisode, then continue the adventure in Mafia Wars!


For now it looks like Mafia Wars will launch a webisode and players can then continue the game in Mafia Wars. To get the story that needs to be followed players would need to watch the webisode and then continue the story line in the game itself.

What the difference between Facebook Pages and Facebook Groups

This question is often asked by people who want to start a community thing on Facebook and have trouble deciding whether they need to start a group or a page.

One of the key differentiators between a page and a group is that a page is made more for public broadcast and it mainly run public figures and organizations to share info with this fans. A group however is more to do with community sharing and discussions around a particular topic by it's members.

This is basically the whole idea. Fan Pages however are created by people who like to share information about their fans and actually helps in generating more publicity.

If let's say you have started a new small business then you might want to create a page. Like if you have a hot dog stand and you want people to know you have special offers and maybe you move around quiet a bit then a page should do. But if on the other hand you want to discuss climate change in how to stop global warming, a group would serve the purpose as each topic can be discussed in detail.

There is however not much by way the setup when it comes to discussions. When you post something new to a group or a page members get the same three options. Comment Like Share. So pretty much follows the same rules of engagement.

Pages on Facebook however do get nice URL's whereas groups do not. Extra applications can be added to pages but not to groups. Facebook will also send visitor statistics for pages but not for groups. Facebook pages also have the option to be promoted via social ads on Facebook.

Pages have two walls one for the owner to write and the other for fans to write on. Pages also have tabs that help uncover more information.

Facebook with it's new change in it's button tag from "Become a Fan" to "Like" has changed the game around and you can now join any group or page by clicking the like button. Which pretty much does the same thing. Shows all you friends that you support either this page or this group and so we can conclude that. Pages work well for public figures like celebrities to keep this fans updated and informed. Groups cater more to social discussions wherein people can gather around a social cause, need, car and bike discussions etc.

Ferrari however would have a Page and not a group. Fans of Ferrari would revel in a group where other fans can come together and discuss.

PetVille Enchanted Crates

PetVille has released the enchanted mystery crate and it comes for 30 pet cash about $2.50. Each crate has one of possible 8 enchanted gifts inside it. By the looks from the picture below it is possible to see a purple tree surrounded by lights, a castle and a shield.

Users however are reacting quiet strongly to this whole price thing. 30 PetVille cash is quiet a lot of money and users are starting to complain.

How to activate Facebook on your Mobile phone

There are two ways to activate your mobile phone on Facebook. Once activated you can receive notifications for friend requests, messages, wall posts, news feed updates and status updates from your friends.

You can also update your status, search for phone numbers or upload photos and videos from your phone.

Here is a step by step guide on how to activate Faceboook on your mobile Phone

1. Login to facebook.
2. Click on Account
3. Click on Account Settings
4. On the top tool bar click on Mobile
5. Click the link which says " Register for Facebook Text Messages"
6. Choose a Carrier depending on which country your in.
7. You receieve a message that looks like this "Using your mobile phone, send a text message containing only the letter "f" (without quotes) to 9236666666 (92FACEBOOK).*
8. Once you send the Text message you get a confirmation code from Facebook which you need to enter. Facebook sends you this message.

"In a few seconds, you should receive a text message that contains your mobile activation code. If you haven't received a code after a few minutes, please repeat Step #2."


9. You need to enter your mobile activation code in the space provided.
10. You can also enter your mobile activation code at a later time. Using the "Already received a confirmation code?" found on the same page.


Activating Facebook Mobile

1. Go to www.facebook.com/mobile
2. Click on "Signup for Facebook Text Messages"
3. Please choose your country and mobile service provider below.
4. You will receive a message that looks like this

How to delete FarmVille from Facebook

How to delete or remove Farmville from Facebook


There are two things people are worried about. If you simply want to delete notifications coming to your wall from these games you would need to hover over the upper right hand side of the notification when it arrives and the option "Hide" appears. Simply click hide and the notifications will then be stopped.


This was you can continue your game and not get the notifications.


If you want to delete the game from your application settings you would need to do the following



1. Account
2. Privacy Preferences
3. Click on 'edit your settings' under "Apps and Websites"
4. Beside Apps you use please click on 'edit Settings'
5. Click on 'edit' beside Apps you use
5. Click on FarmVille or the (X) mark beside the App
6. Click on Remove
7. Confirm Remove

By removing the game completely you will now no more be able to play it. So you need to decide if you want to remove the game application completely or simply hide notifications.

From Earthquake to Boobquake

An Islamic cleric had this to say about Earthquakes happening in Haiti, Chile and the US.

Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi earlier this month warned worshipers:"Women who do not dress modestly . . . lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes."

And so one blogger, Jen McCreight, decided to test his claim. She is urging women on Monday to gather in their "most immodest outfit" and see what happens.

So for all the D.C. women who are interested in participating in this event, there is a gathering being organized for noon at Dupont Circle. According to one Facebook page, more than 30,000 are liking this.

With the power of our scandalous bodies combined, we should surely produce an earthquake. If not, I'm sure Sedighi can come up with a rational explanation for why the ground didn't rumble. And if we really get through to him, maybe it'll be one involving plate tectonics.

Facebook | Account Disabled

For a number of reasons Facebook may shut down, disable or make temporarily unavailable an account. It could be because an account is suspect of inappropriate behavior like some sort of harassment, advertising, marketing, dating. All of these in access can get your account disabled. Things like harassment have zero tolerance on Facebook. That is what they say and it is quiet difficult to track but once tracked down an account will be disabled. 

If your account has been hacked or phished Facebook will shut it down there are appropriate channels to contact them and get it sorted out. Whatever the reason maybe accounts get disabled and you need to contact Facebook to get the issue resolved and sorted out.

How to hide News Feed updates, applications and stories in Facebook

Well you want to stop all those annoying stories from appearing on your News Feed in Facebook. You joined a quiz and up comes all those annoying updates, or maybe you want your daily horoscope but everyday it pops up on your News Feed. All your friends get to see it and it starts to get annoying. An application also keeps updating all recent activity. There are simple and easy steps to get rid of it and be done with it.

Maybe it's one of your friends who cannot stop updating their stories on Facebook and you have had enough. You do not want these constant updated and would rather stop it. You still want your friend but not their constant updated. Well here goes. The process is simply to stop all this and continue your Facebook experience.

1. Login to Facebook
2. Hover over the updated or story you would like to stop from appearing on your News Feed
3. As you hover a "Hide" button will appear
4. If you want to stop seeing a friends update. Once you click on hide a further button appears. Asking you if you would like to "Hide Friends Name" click yes if you want to or no to cancel and continue seeing their updates.
5. If it is from an application like a game or a quiz. Once you click the hide button a further button appears asking if you would like to "Hide Application Name" click yes to hide and no to continue receiving the updates.
6. Your Done.

This will help you decide which updates, applications and stories you would like to stop appearing on your New Feed.

How to block someone on Facebook

How to block someone on Facebook. You know those types someone who you find very annoying and don't want them constantly on your profile. Maybe it's you Ex as is most usually the case. Blocking someone is mutual and both parties will become invisible to each other.

To Block Someone

1. Login to Facebook

2. Click on "Account"

3. Click on "Privacy Settings"

4. Click on "Block List"

Control who can interact with you on Facebook

5. You have two options either enter the person's name or the person's email. Once their full name appears click on block
6. Your Done

There are three ways to block someone:

Go to the Privacy Settings page and click "Block List." Enter the name or email address of the person you want to block in the appropriate field and click "Block."

If you cannot find someone using the Person search field, try going to their profile page. You can block them by navigating to the "Report/Block this Person" link at the bottom of their profile page. Once you click this link, check the "Block this person" box and then click "Submit."

Lastly, please note that you can block someone through the "Report" link located next to messages in your Inbox.

People will not be notified when you block them. If you are unable to block someone using any of the methods listed above, it is possible that they have left Facebook or have restricted their privacy settings. 

If you cannot block someone and would like to prevent them from viewing your profile, you can adjust your Privacy Settings accordingly. 

What happens when you block someone on Facebook

You need to be really sure that you want to block someone on Facebook, because blocking someone will cut all ties and becomes obvious to the other person that they have been blocked. They will no more be able to view your profile or interact with you. They will also not appear on your friends list and you on theirs.

When you block someone on Facebook it prevents that person from viewing your profile. All ties you have with that person will be broken friendship connections, friendship details and pretty much everything. Your profile will not be visible to them and you will not appear in their search results or friends list. Since blocking is mutual they will also become invisible to you.

Blocking on Facebook may not apply to third party applications and other places on the web. So if both of you have joined a game or any other third party Apps not controlled and managed by Facebook. Then there is a possibility of crossing paths again.

Mafia Wars 4 limited item collections from the movie 'Scarface'

Today the fourth and final themed item was released by Mafia Wars "My Little Friend" with 51 arrack. This pretty much sums up the total of four items released by the game.

Mafia Wars Private Zoo and Animals Unleashed

Mafia Wars is bringing Animals and a private Zoo that you can own in Mafia Wars. The animals can be used in fights. Two limited edition animals have been released in the market place the African lion and the pit bull. Both these animals are available only for a week.

To kick off this change Mafia Wars is a having and "Animals Gone Wild" week during which animals will be dropping from jobs, fighting and robbing.

The animals are coming! Mafia Wars is pleased to announce that animals will have a new importance in the game. Starting next week, animals will become a fully-fledged combat item class that you can use. In fights and robbing, you’ll bring one Weapon, Armor, Vehicle, AND Animal for each Mafia member you use in the fight! All existing animals in the game will be converted to this new “Animal” item type.

In preparation for this change, we’re kicking this off by having “Animals Gone Wild!” week. During this week, animals will be dropping from jobs, fighting and robbing. If you want a head start in assembling your private zoo, you can go to the Marketplace to get your hands on our new Vicious Crates. These crates will contain exclusive LE animals that can’t be found anywhere else. We’ll also be featuring various LE animals in our hourly sales slots, so keep an eye out for those great deals!

We are also releasing two Limited Edition animals on the Marketplace: an African Lion and Pit Bull. These will only be available this week – so make sure you grab them before it’s too late!

Mafia Wars Paris

Mafia Wars will be coming soon to the city if lights Paris, France. And it seems reasonable enough to expect bread, wine and cheese collections.

Paris has now been added to the game's drop down menu with the tag "Coming Soon"

On Facebook you must now link to pages or sections of your profile will remain empty

Facebook has now announced that a lot of your info will not be available if it is not linked to a page.

"Uncheck any Page you don't want to link to. Linking to education and work Pages may also create additional Pages, such as for your major or job title. If you don't link to any Pages, these sections on your profile will be empty. By linking your profile to Pages, you will be making these connections public."

This is one change that is sure to cause panic among users concerned about their privacy.

FarmVille Nursery Barn

FarmVille now has a brand new building for you to keep your calves and foals in, the Nursery Barn! Just like the Horse Stables, you'll need to build it with help from your friends or by purchasing pieces from the Market with Farm Cash.

Starting with last night's release the foundation for the Nursery Barn can either be found in your Gift Box, or available for purchase from the Market for 5,000 Coins. Once the foundation is placed, you can post a feed to let your friends know so they can help you get started. Up to ten neighbors can click the feed to receive 100 coins.

You can select Look Inside from the Nursery Barn's pulldown menu in order to see just what you'll need to build a complete Nursery. Five different items go into the Nursery Barn, and you'll need 10 of each of them. The Bricks, Wooden Boards and Nails are hold overs from the Horse Stable, but you'll also need baby Bottles and Blankets for the nursery. When you place the foundation, there's already a Bottle inside to help you get started.

In order to get all the pieces you need, each of them can be purchased from the Market for 1 Farm Cash each. You can also get them as gifts from friends from the Free Gifts page. Three of the five components necessary to build the Nursery are available to send, with a random three being displayed for each player. That way everyone has a chance to get each piece they need. Also, you can now let your neighbors know exactly what pieces you need. When you look inside your unfinished Nursery Barn, you'll see that each piece has an Ask For More button underneath. Clicking it will let you post a Feed that tells your friend exactly how many of each piece you need to finish your Nursery.

Once you hit 25 items, you'll be able to post a feed to let your friends know about your progress. The first 10 neighbors that click it will receive a random building component for their own Nursery. Once your Nursery is finally completed, you'll be able to send another feed that celebrates your achievement by offering up to 5 of your neighbors a free grey foal. You'll also have your very own grey foal waiting for you inside of your Nursery once it's finished.

You can store up to 20 foals and calves in your Nursery, and can collect from them every 24 hours, just like Horses and the Horse Stable. Eventually, you can use the Nursery to grow your foals and calves up, so stay tuned for more info coming very soon.

FarmVille Peanut Crop

FarmVille has introduced a new permanent crop the Peanut. 

The peanut's a 16 hour crop, yields 78 coins when harvested, and can be purchased for 20 coins from the market.

 it can be mastered! Level 1 is achieved at 275 crops harvested, Level 2 at 825 crops and for Level 3 you'll need to harvest 1650 crops.

Level 1 mastery : 275 peanuts
Level 2 mastery : 825 peanuts
Level 3 mastery : 1650 peanuts

Off course there were rumors that this crop will be launched with an Ad sponsor but that has not yet happened.

Facebook announces the 'Like' button instead of the 'Become a fan'

Remember the "Become a Fan' button that used to what you would click to become a fan of a page you like. Well that is not going to be the case anymore. Facebook has introduced the 'Like' button instead. 

Introducing the Like button

Starting today people will be able to connect with your Page by clicking “Like” rather than “Become a Fan.” We hope this action will feel much more lightweight, and that it will increase the number of connections made across the site

This is a significant step in the simplification of Facebook with the "Become a Fan" button seeming to tell users that they are now a fan and therefore a burden needs to be carried. All users need to do now is like a page and be able to follow it. 

Once users’ click on the “like” button it shows up in the users activity stream.

Websites will also be able to add the “Like” button to their websites and offer customizations to users such as showing them which articles their friends liked and which restaurants they visited.

How to delete Treasure Isle from Facebook

How to delete or remove Treasure Isle from Facebook.

There are two things people are worried about. If you simply want to delete notifications coming to your wall from these games you would need to hover over the upper right hand side of the notification when it arrives and the option "Hide" appears. Simply click hide and the notifications will then be stopped.

This was you can continue your game and not get the notifications.

If you want to delete the game from your application settings you would need to do the following

1. Account
2. Privacy Preferences
3. Click on 'edit your settings' under "Apps and Websites"
4. Beside Apps you use please click on 'edit Settings'
5. Click on 'edit' beside Apps you use
5. Click on Treasure Isle or the (X) mark beside the App
6. Click on Remove
7. Confirm Remove

By removing the game completely you will now no more be able to play it. So you need to decide if you want to remove the game application completely or simply hide notifications.

Treasure Isle Barrel of Fun

Treasure Isle has three new barrels of fun that are washing up to shore. These barrels can be found in the "Free Gifts" tab and can be sent to all your friends. The Barrel gifts include a plain " Iron Band Barrel", "Blue Barrel" which is decorated with yellow and white flowers and the "Wine barrel" decorated with purple grapes. All nice additions for your home island.

These barrels do not wash up to your island but are actually found on the "Free Gifts" page and can be sent as gifts.

FarmVille forbidden Rice Crop

With Earth Day just a day away (April 22) farmVille has relased a new mystery box and a limited editions Forbidden Rice Crop. To find these itrems you would need to head over to the FarmVille market place to get your limited items.

Forbidden Rice is available to farmers Level 22 and above. It costs 300 coins per plot and is ready to harvest in 8 hours yielding 400 coins.




There is no Crop Mastery available for Forbidden Rice.

Eminem announces new album 'Recovery' on Twitter

The First read "There is no Relapse 2"

Relapse 2 was supposed to be the follow-up to his chart topping LP 'Relapse'. His fans were waiting with a lot of anticipation for the new album that everyone knew was in the making. On Wednesday he tweeted that there would be no Relapse 2 which caused panic among his fans. 

But in a second tweet Marshall Mathers cleared the air saying simply in a not so cryptic message.

The much waited for and anticipated for album has got a new name 'Recovery". 

"I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year," remarked Eminem. "But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recoverycame out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title."

Treasure Isle Fire Pit

Treasure Isle Adventures can now quickly level up to 100. Alone on an Island you definitely need a fire pit to keep yourself warm during the nights. Treasure Isle have ensured that you can easily level up to 100 and get a move on in the game. Once you level up to 100 you can get a fire pit, lava rock and flower garden are now available.

The Level cap has been increased from 50 to 100.

As of now there aren't any maps that have a level requirement higher than 50, but some are undoubtedly in the works. The level increase is arriving just in time – although regular players are probably somewhere in the 20s or low 30s, the most hardcore players are already at or very close to level 50.

The Mystery vault in Mafia Wars is a randomly occurring event. Your Mafia has discovered a locked vault. Hack a secure terminal to intercept the email with the security code.


When you login to Mafia Wars you stand he chance of discovering the Mystery vault. 

Once you discover the Mystery Vault you need to click on Email me the code. Once you click on email me the code you get an email with a link to click which takes you back to your Facebook page and the game. There you find another link to open the vault. Once your able to open the vault to stand to win some limited edition loot uptp 1000 Reward Points and up to 250 XP.


There maybe some technical related issues though and you find that the link is not opening. Most users recommend that you keep clicking and eventually it will open. Please share your experiences with the Mystery Vault and what loot you found etc
