You can now remote control another PC using Chrome

How to gain remote access to a PC using Chrome

This new extension from Google Chrome gives you remote access to another PC. You can now access and remote control another computer right from where you are. This is good news for IT Admin who would need to check and troubleshoot computers. It is also good if you have a relative who is not good with PCs and IT.  You can also use this extension to gain remote access of your PC if you're travelling.

This beta release says Chrome is to test the core Chrome remoting technology and get feedback from users. While it is in beta and if you want to access another computer you will need to use an authentication code which the host of the remote PC needs to accept and you get one time access only.

This will come as a boon especially for people in IT. There are already a large number of IT professionals playing around with it as can be seen from the extension page on Google Chrome. The release notes further say that you can connect any two computers that have a Chrome browser, including Windows, Linux, Mac and Chromebooks. With the ability to provide remote support in Chrome you can expect to see a whole lot of small services springing up.
