How to know how hot your YouTube video is

YouTube has statistics to show you how your audience is interacting with your video. With a a feature called 'Hot Spots' you can now find-out how hot your video actually is. which parts of your video is engaging your audiences the most. Are they rewinding your video and watching it again and again or just dropping-off. Is you video watch for it's full length or do viewers start stop and move on. These statistics are really important because you can learn a lot from it. How to make a better video next time. what your audience actually want. Even how to write and better and more compelling title.

How to check your video Hot Spots on YouTube
1. login to YouTube
2. Click on your YouTube username
3. Click on Videos
4. Click on 'Insights' below the video you want to find hot spots for
5. You can now play your video beside the graph which shows the hot spots of the video

If you look at the graph above you will see on the left verticle link three measure, cold, average and hot. If you want to know how hot your video is you graph should start and stop in the hot zone. If you graph starts in the cold zone you video is not that hot and average carries the same logic. The graph shows the up and down viewership in relation to other videos of similar size and length. These analytics help you analyze the effectiveness of your video.

The temperature icon show in the graph measures how hot your video is in terms of how good your your video's ability is at holding your viewers attention. So if your temperature bar is half shaded your video is doing better that videos of similar length at holding viewers attention.

Note: Hot Spots will not be available for videos that have a view count of less than 300 views.

How YouTube is giving back to Site and Blog owners

YouTube has found a way to reward site and blog owners who have added YouTube videos to their blogs or sites and by adding these videos have also added their commentaries and giving the videos some perspective. To reward all these content curators YouTube a Google company has launched what is know as 'As Seen On'. This is a section on YouTube that will redirect users to sites or blog that have YouTube videos embedded. This is a way for YouTube to give back to site and blog owners something for all the hard work and all the traffic sent to YouTube. when site and blog owners add YouTube videos to their posts it is a two way street, their posts gets a video which might help in many ways and in turn YouTube gets more views and more traffic sent to their the site via blogs and websites.

we do not know the algorithm YouTube uses to choose which sites list of videos get curated into a permanent link. It works like this. If you take this blog 'Sociolatte' our YouTube as seen on link is http://www.youtube.com/social/blog/sociolatte if you click on this link you will see all the YouTube videos that we have shared on this blog. You can use this same link to see the YouTube videos shared by all you favorite sites this way. Now if you are a blog or website owner and want to know how to get your site added, we are sorry but this is an internal thing and is done by YouTube. If you have shared a lot of videos and added relevant commentaries to them we are sure you site or blog has already been added.

To find this link on YouTube you would need to head over to www.youtube.com/news and scroll down to see the 'As seen on link' and find videos shared by your favorite sites.

This is an important step in content discovery as users don't really know how large YouTube really is and that it cowers just about everything on the net with Video. You think of anything and search YouTube and find a related video. The content of the video sharing site is as large as the internet itself and therefore by checking these links you will discover rich content and open your mind to the vastness of the whole thing. For blog and site owners this happens to be a good way to get a whole new audience discovering you site or blog. Each post is shared with a link back to your site, fantastic social way to discover and share content. This is another social feature and maybe further social features will be added to the "As seen on" program by Google.

YouTube increases upload limit to 15 minutes.

everyone who has uploaded video to YouTube or even tried to upload videos to YouTube know there is a 10 minute maximum limit on the length of the video you can upload. This restricted users to creating videos that were a maximum 10 minutes long. YouTube has announced via a official post that, that limit has now been extended. Users can now create videos that last for a maximum of 15 minutes. You can now truly get your own 15 minutes of fame on YouTube.

This comes as good news for all non-partners of YouTube. Partners are people who upload original content and therefore do not have the time restriction. Like TV shows and documentaries uploaded by the people who made them and they therefore have all the rights to the content.

What's changed, Siegel said, is that YouTube can now handle longer videos because of an improved Content ID system, the YouTube technology that major movie studios, music labels and 1,000 other content owners use to manage their videos and block unauthorized versions.

Tag your video with “yt15minutes,” upload it by Wednesday, August 4, and YouTube will select a handful of people to truly gain their 15 minutes of fame by featuring them on the YouTube homepage in a future spotlight.

One final note: if you’re uploading a video that was previously rejected for being too long, you’ll have to go into “My Videos” and delete it before attempting to upload it again. Thanks and happy uploading!

The Spice man from Old Spice is really going all out with the new campaign. There is now a personal video from the old Spice Man to Kevin Rose who you know is the founder of Digg.com. Social Media has definitely taken advertising to a whole new realm we never knew existed even a year ago.

On Twitter, Kevin Rose wrote "HOLY SH*T, best get well video EVER from the old spice man!". This is hilarious as Keven Rose can see the Spice Man stalking him. Looks like old spice is leaving no stone unturned in this new Social Media Campaign. All said and done Social Media has done something to Advertising that we never even dreamed of a few years ago. When advertisers will come on social media and actually respond and interact with fans.

YouTube to now support original video resolution up to 4K

YouTube will now support original video quality. What that means is To give some perspective on the size of 4K, the ideal screen size for a 4K video is 25 feet; IMAX movies are projected through two 2k resolution projectors.

To view any video in a source resolution greater than 1080p, select "Original" in the video quality pulldown menu:

To illustrate the power of 4K, please check out the videos in
this playlist; each one was created by a filmmaker with access to a 4K camera. (Be warned: watching videos in 4K, even on YouTube, will require ultra-fast high-speed broadband connections).

Because 4K represents the highest quality of video available, there are a few limitations that you should be aware of. First off, video cameras that shoot in 4K aren’t cheap, and projectors that show videos in 4K are typically the size of a small refrigerator. And, as we mentioned, watching these videos on YouTube will require super-fast broadband.

We're excited about this latest step in the evolution of online video. We've been impressed by the 1080p videos you've uploaded over the last seven months and can't wait to see (in 4K!) what you do next.
