New York City to get a new fleet of Taxis - Nissan NV200

Nissan has won the contract to supply the city of New York with its next gen taxis. Nissan won the contract over finalists Ford and Karsan and the contract will last for the next ten years, starting late 2013 while all the older taxis will be off the streets by late 2018. The Nissan  NV200 was unveiled on Tuesday ahead of the New York international auto show. The new Taxi comes with  all the bells and whistles and will replace the Fords and Toyota Siennas currently prowling the city.

The new cab will come with features like:

Back seat cell phone and USB ports for charging
Transparent roof panel
Independently controlled rear air-conditioning
Carbon lined head-liner to reduce odor
Anti-bacterial non-stick surfaces
Airbags for rear-seat occupants
Lights to inform taxi doors are being opened
A new horn light to reduce honking.

Pizza is a Vegetable - Meme [Pics]

A bill put forth before congress wants to classify Pizza as a vegetable because of the tomato paste or sauce that is topped on a pizza. Which means if the bill is passed a child's lunch can be substituted with a slice of pizza. Law makers in congress are recommending that Pizza and French fries be considered as whole foods. For this  large food companies -- in this case ConAgra and Schwan -- can be thanked -- they pressured Congress to comply with their financial interests.

COPPER SWORD STOLEN FROM LINCOLN'S TOMB

This comes as breaking news and is also deemed to have been done by vandals. A copper sword resting atop Abraham Lincoln's final resting place has been stolen. The last time that same sword was stolen was in 1890, over 100 years ago. There are been no security guard at the place during the night for a lack of funds. it must have been stolen during the night as during the day one of the workers would have noticed. The sword has been broken off at the handle. 


The statue is located on the tomb's balcony and which is actually closed to visitors. The rest of the statue has been left unharmed and authorities say they plan to fix the statue.

Jack Nicholson's Hollywood Hills Home Destroyed After Fire [Pics]

A two-story single family home owned by Hollywood actor Jack Nicholson has been destroyed in a fire. After Sir Richard Branson's home was destroyed just a couple of weeks ago it has now happened to Jack Nicholson. He does not live at this place but has rented it to William Tyan. Tyan who is a close friend of jack Nicholson has been invited by the actor to stay with him till he gets back on his feet. Tyan who was in the home when the fire started escaped unhurt and it took the firemen 90 minutes to extinguish the blaze. 85 firemen were at the scene. Nicholson lives only a few minutes away in his Mulholland Drive estate.

Viral images of the day: Richard Branson's Island Home burnt to cinders

This post comes as a update to the most important image and video searc h of the day. Sir Richard Branson's home on the Caribbean island which he owns; Necker, has been burnt of cinders. Kate Winslet was a guest on his home when the incident took place. She is safe and also ensure the safety of Branson's mother whom she carried out of the house to safety. The home caught fire after it was battered by Hurricane Irene.  Kate and her two children were a part of the 20 guests who were at the property at the time of the incident and the actress acted like a true heroin while saving Eve, Branson's mom. [Pics and Videos] Fake Apple stores found in China

By now you must have heard and seen pictures and photographs of the fake Apple stores operating in Kunming City, China. First posted on the web by blogger know as BirdAbroad who remains anonymous beyond that for obvious reasons. Apple has responded saying that they have no comment. The Store is a complete ripoff on the original Apple store with employees wearing blue T-shirts, winding staircase, an upstairs seating area and employees with chunky IDs too. The employees also believe that they are really working for Apple.
