Mystery Game:

A new Mystery Game is now available in the Market!

There is a new animal, building, and a set of new decorations available to purchase, and we have all of the information about these new items here for your browsing pleasure.

All together, these items are mostly Farm Cash items that will set you back a pretty penny (or virtual Farm Cash) if you choose to purchase them all, but there is one item for those that would rather stay clear of spending premium currency. Meet us behind the break to find out what it is.

First off, the new animal is the New Year Horse, which should look familiar, as we brought you a Sneak Peek of this (and many other items in this release) last week. The New Year Horse costs 22 Farm Cash, and comes outfitted with a cute Top Hat, noise maker, and New Years Sash. If purchased, you can harvest from your New Year Horse once every three days, to receive 140 coins each time. Of course, you'll also be able to place the New Year Horse in your Horse Stable, offering the potential to receive a New Year Foal (with matching top hat and sash).

Moving on, the new building is the animated Party House. This building costs 25 Farm Cash, and is a brightly decorated building with pulsing lights shooting from the windows, two rotating spotlights from the roof of the home, and four clusters of balloons perched at the home's corners. Sure, it might be a tad expensive, considering that it is just a decorative building, but the sheer quality of the animation seems to make it worth the price.

Finally, there are three decorations that are now available to purchase, two of which are Farm Cash-only. These items are the Cider Fountain and the New Year Band. The Cider Fountain is another animated item, which consists of a large tower of glasses over which Cider is pouring down, into a large trough at the bottom. It costs 15 Farm Cash to add to your farm. The New Year Band costs 20 Farm Cash, and is a truly clever item, consisting of a three piece band, instruments, stage equipment and lighting, with the band being made up of a Chicken drummer, a Duck guitarist, and a sheep playing the keyboard. How cute!

The other decoration is a simple stationary Happy New Year sign that costs just 4,800 coins to add to your land. Even if you don't want to spend the Farm Cash on these other items, this sign will allow you to still celebrate the holiday in fashion. You'll gain 48 experience points for purchasing the sign, which will only be available for the next 5 days.

All other items will be available for the next 13 days, so keep these separate time limits in mind when deciding which items to purchase. You wouldn't want to miss out on collecting any of these neat items, now would you?

FarmVille Podcast - December 17th, 2010

FarmVille Podcast - Dec 17th:

Hey Farmers, and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious, and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, I will be giving you guys information on some of our new community events and everyone will be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future.

Now, The FarmVille team has seen some pretty creative farms popping up since the release of our Limited Edition Winter Holiday items, and we figure it’s only fair that the jolliest Farms get the recognition they deserve.
That’s right folks, it’s time for you to show us your decorating skills once again. This holiday season we want to see your farms at their merriest! Submit photos of your winter themed farms from Dec. 16th - Dec. 31st for a chance to win 500 Farm Cash and 500,000 coins in our Winter Holiday Decorating Contest! If you are interested in participating in this event, please make sure to visit the FarmVille Forums for more details.

And in addition to our winter holiday decorating contest, we have another special event coming your way in the very near future. Soon, we will be launching our very first FarmVille themed Winter Holiday Greeting Card contest! Do you like to draw? Consider yourself an artist with Microsoft Paint or Photoshop? Can you create witty, FarmVille themed puns? If so, this contest is for you. Like our baking contest, creating a winning greeting card will earn you 1000 Farm Cash, 1,000,000 Coins and any limited edition FarmVille item of your choice, so make sure to keep an eye out for this new contest in the coming weeks.

Last Friday, we released the new Holiday Tree, which allows you to collect gifts from your friends and redeem them for special prizes. Keeping with the spirit of the Holidays, you can also give presents to your friends that they can open on December 25th.

The Holiday Tree works like many of our other item-gathering style events in FarmVille. You acquire Holiday Gifts through various methods, then “Use” them to put them underneath your Holiday Tree. As you accumulate Holiday Gifts under your Tree you can redeem them for exclusive prizes like the “Frozen Fence” or “Snow Stallion”. Given that this feature has been out for about a week now, we know that a lot of players have already accumulated a large number of gifts under their tree. Because of this, we released six new redeemable items for the holiday tree on Wednesday. Keep on Collecting and redeeming gifts from your Neighbors to get the new Sneezy Sheep, Ice House, Kodiak Cub, Frozen Fantasy, Arctic Fox and the Tinsel Tree. You will also find a very special present from Zynga in your Tree that can be opened on the 25th of December with the other gifts given to you by your Neighbors.

Now, winter is well and truly here, and what better way to make use of this special time of the year by engaging in snowball fights and building snowmen?
We all know that a snowball fight isn’t much fun by yourself. To participate in this feature, you’ll need to get your neighbors involved. You can start the fight simply by visiting your neighbor’s farm. You’ll see a pop-up window asking if you want to throw a snowball at them. To do this, simply click on the “Share” button. You’ll be prompted to post a snowball fight notice to their feed. You’ll see an on-screen animation of a snowball hitting them… or does it? There is a chance you could miss your neighbor and hit someone else by accident.

Whenever someone gets hit, they have the option to throw a snowball back by clicking on the “Retaliate” button on the feed post. You can throw one snowball per neighbor per day.

But that’s not all! If you get hit by a snowball and retaliate, you’ll get a Pile of Snow in return.

You can use this pile of show to build a Snowman. You’ll get the initial frame for the Snowman for free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, where you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Snowman on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later.

The Snowman is not level locked, so any level player can use it. The Snowman is essentially a three-tier constructible building, but you won’t use regular building parts for it. You will need special Winter-themed items for this event. Click on the Snowman frame and then select “Look Inside” to see what you’ll need.

You can acquire these parts from your Neighbors, snow piles and Farm Cash.
Once a day you’ll also be able to harvest the Snowman for Watering Cans. The higher the tier, the more Watering Cans you can get out of it.

Both the Snowball Fight and the Snowman events end on January 13. After that date players will not be able to throw snowballs, or add parts to their Snowman. You will be able to store your Snowman at that time.

The past few weeks were also filled with great new Limited Edition Winter Holiday items that all of our players have seemed to enjoy. Your original favorites from this theme have made another appearance along with some great new items to add to your collection like the Polar Bear Cave, Partridge and the Winter Manor. Winter Holiday items can now be found in the Marketplace for a limited time only, so make sure to grab some before they disappear.

Alright! And on that note, let’s go ahead and get into the coming soon segment of this week’s podcast. So we have a lot to talk about this week, but first up is something that should make our pig lover’s quite happy. Pig Pen Expansion will be coming soon and this extra space will allow you to hunt for more truffles, accumulate more slop and store up to 40 pigs.

The New Year’s Ball Drop feature will also make an appearance soon, which will give you the ability to invite your neighbors to your New Year’s party. The more Neighbors who attend your party, the better rewards you will get. Some of the rewards you can look forward to are a new crop, a new pony and some new clothes for your avatar.

And lastly, we have the Winter Countdown that will start sometime after December 25th. Everyday you log in, you will have a chance to ask for and give an item from our old Winter Holiday theme to your Neighbors. Each day will be a new item, and if you manage to collect all 12 of them, you will unlock a very special new animal.

Now before I get out of here, I want to give you guys a quick update on when the 28x28 expansion will be available for coins. Currently, we are looking at releasing this feature sometime after the new year, so please hang tight and we will have this for you as soon as we can.

Alright Farmers, that’s it from me this week. Please know that due to the Holidays, our next podcast will be on January 7th. The FarmVille Team would like to wish all of our players a safe and happy holiday season. Again, my name is Lexilicious and I would like to thank everyone for tuning in this week! Happy holidays and happy farming everybody!

FarmVille The Snowball Fight/Snowman Guide

Winter is here and snow is on the ground in big giant heaps! What better way to make use of this special time of the year by engaging in two of our favorite traditional snowy activities: snowball fights and snowman building?

In FarmVille for a limited time you can now do both. Read on for the details!

Blast ‘em with a Snowball

A snowball fight isn’t much fun by yourself—you need to get your neighbors involved (perhaps unwittingly). You can start the fight simply by visiting your neighbor’s farm. You’ll see a pop-up window asking if you want to throw a snowball at them. To do this, simply click on the “Share” button:

You’ll be prompted to post a snowball fight notice to their feed. You’ll see an on-screen animation of a snowball hitting them… or does it? There’s a chance you could miss your neighbor and hit someone else by accident.

Whenever someone gets hit, they have the option to throw a snowball back by clicking on the “Retaliate” button on the feed post:

You’ll then be shown a new window where you can throw snowballs back and post the appropriate notes on their walls (if you hit them). Note that you can Retaliate from someone else’s feed—you don’t have to be hit to Retaliate. You can throw one snowball per neighbor per day:

But that’s not all! If you get hit by a snowball and retaliate, you’ll get a Pile of Snow in return. What can you do with a Pile of Snow?

Build a Snowman

You can build a Snowman of course! You’ll get initial frame for the Snowman for free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, where you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Snowman on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later.

The Snowman is not level locked, so any level player can use it. You can only have one on your farm at any one time, though should you lose or not get a Snowman, you can buy one in the Market for 5,000 coins (under the “Buildings” tab).

Alternatively you can convert one of your Piles of Snow into a Snowman frame if yours is missing. You can also have more than one Snowman on your farm, but you can only build one at a time.

The Snowman is essentially a three-tier constructible building—you don’t use regular building parts for it, but special Winter-themed items special for this event. Click on the Snowman frame and then select “Look Inside” to see what you’ll need:

Here are the parts you’ll need to construct each Snowman tier:

  • First tier, “Smiling Snowman”: ten (10) Piles of Snow, one (1) Snowman Scarf

  • Second tier, “Dapper Snowman”: five (5) Piles of Snow, three (3) Snowman Buttons

  • Third tier, “Dancing Snowman”: two (2) Piles of Snow, one (1) Magic Hat

Each tier has a different look to it:

You can acquire these parts by:

  • Asking your neighbors for these parts by posting a help request to their feed (click on the “Ask For More” button for each type of part). Three friends are chosen to ask from—the selection of these friends changes daily.

  • Acquire individual parts by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Buy” button for that particular part). Piles of Snow are 1 Farm Cash; other items may be 2-3 Farm Cash each except for the Magic Hat (which is 10 Farm Cash).

  • Piles of Snow can be acquired by getting hit by Snowballs from your neighbors (or clicking on related feeds).

  • Acquire all needed parts for the building by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase parts for the rest of the building).

  • Using individual parts available in your Gift Box.

  • Some other special unique parts (like the Snowman Scarf) can also be acquired by asking other neighbors for those special parts.

Piles of Snow collect as you retaliate from the Snowball Fight, and get stored in your Gift Box:

Once a day you’ll also be able to harvest the Snowman for Watering Cans—the higher the tier, the more Watering Cans you can get out of it.

Both the Snowball Fight and the Snowman events end on January 13. After that date players will not be able to throw snowballs, or add (or ask for) parts to their Snowman. You will be able to store your Snowman at that time.

FarmVille Turkey Roost

Lexilicious FarmVille community manager has written the official guide for FarmVille's newest feature "Turkey Roost". This guide is comprehensive and has everything you need to know about Turkey Roost. Don't forget to share this on Facebook as everyone needs this info.

It’s Turkey time in FarmVille! We’ve introduced a whole new limited edition building to house your Turkeys: the Turkey Roost! Now you can store (after expansion) up to 40 turkeys in one building, share new Baby Turkeys with your neighbors, and collect Fruit Cake for use in the near future.

Building your Roost

You’ll get the frame for the Turkey Roost for free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Turkey Roost frame on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later. You’ll need to be level 5 in order to place and use the Turkey Roost.

The Turkey Roost is a constructable building, so you’ll need a grand total of 30 parts (10 bricks, 10 nails and 10 wooden boards) to finish it:

Like other constructable buildings, you can acquire these parts by:

  • Asking your neighbors for these parts by posting a help request to your feed (click on the “Ask For More” button for each type of part).

  • Give parts to your neighbors via the Free Gifts page or the “Send Gifts” button.

  • Acquire individual parts by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Buy” button for that particular part). Each part is 1 Farm Cash.

  • Acquire all needed parts for the building by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase parts for the rest of the building). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the amount of parts left needed to finish the building.

  • Parts awarded through Special Delivery Boxes.

  • Using individual parts available in your Gift Box.

The look of the Turkey Roost changes as you build it:

You can only have one Turkey roost on your farm at any one time. If you happen to sell your Turkey Roost, you can buy a new frame in the Market under the Buildings tab before the end of the promotion (at the end of the month). The cost is 5,000 coins.

Using Your Roost

Turkey Roosts basically need turkeys in order to work—they don’t do much sitting empty by themselves. Click on your completed Roost—you’ll see an option to “Ask For Turkeys”, which will make a post to your feed asking your neighbors for turkeys, and to “Look Inside”. Looking inside right now will show you this:

As you put various turkeys into your Roost, they’ll show up inside. You can acquire turkeys by:

  • Posting in your feed asking for turkeys (see above)

  • Buying turkeys in the market (like the Wild Turkey)

  • Grabbing a Baby Turkey from a neighbor’s Turkey Roost feed (see below)

  • Through in-game events (like the Lonely Turkey, or as a flash gift, or maybe even the Animal Feed Trough).

You can put turkeys in the Turkey Roost simply by placing them directly in your Roost if you buy them or are placing through the Gift Box or Storage Cellar. If the turkeys are already on your farm you can just use Move and click on the Turkey Roost to move them in.

The Turkey Roost is harvestable once every 24 hours. When it’s at 100% ready (move the mouse cursor over the Roost to check on it), click on the Turkey Roost to harvest. You will get:

  • The total amount of coins you can get for harvesting all of the turkeys in the Roost at once.

  • The possibility of getting some Fruit Cake.

  • The possibility of being able to give your FarmVille neighbors a Baby Turkey.

The Fruit Cake is a special item that you will need in the near future (so be on the lookout). Note that you do not get a Baby Turkey yourself, but just the possibility of giving one to your neighbors by posting a notice to your feed. The higher the number of turkeys in your Roost, the better the chance of getting the Fruit Cake/Baby Turkey rewards.

Also note that Baby Turkeys do not grow up while in the Turkey Roost.

Expanding Your Roost

A standard Turkey Roost can hold up to twenty (20) turkeys and may look like this when you click “Look Inside”:

However you may expand your Roost if you wish by clicking on “Expand Roost”. You can expand your Roost twice, and each expansion will allow you to hold ten (10) more turkeys. The first expansion will cost a total of forty-five (45) building parts, while the second expansion will cost sixty (60) building parts. You can acquire, purchase, and ask for more building parts in the exact same way when you were building the Turkey Roost.

End of Event Notes

After the end of this limited edition event (December 1, 2010) you will not be able to purchase a new Turkey Roost frame in the Market, nor will you be able to acquire Fruit Cakes from harvesting your Turkey Roost. You’ll still be able to complete a Turkey Roost still in construction, expand it, receive Baby Turkeys from neighbors, and ask for turkeys in your feed.

FarmVille Podcast - August 28th, 2010

FarmVille Podcast - August 28th:

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases and you guys will all be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future!

One of this week’s most exciting releases was the long awaited Pigpen feature. Pigpens are FarmVille’s newest constructable Animal Building that will allow you to store up to 20 of your Pigs at a time. If you are level 16 or above, you will be able to place the Pigpen foundation on your farm upon logging in. Alternatively, you can also purchase the Pigpen frame from the Market for 5,000 coins. In order to use your Pigpen, you’ll need to finish building it. Selecting ‘Look Inside’ from your foundation’s menu will show you what you need to complete your Pigpen.

Neighbors can send you the materials you need to construct your Pigpen from the Free Gifts Page, or you can click the “ask for more” button from the pen’s menu. When neighbors send you materials, they work exactly like any other free gift. After you accept the gift it will appear in your gift box. After clicking the "use" button under the gift it will automatically be added to your Pigpen.

Alternatively, if at any time during your construction process you decide that you’d rather simply purchase the materials required for the pen, you can do so by clicking the “Buy” button from the Pigpen’s menu. Every 24 hours, you’ll be able to collect from the pigs stored in your Pigpen and you may only have one pigpen on your farm at a time.

As I said in last week’s podcast, there will be additional functionality added to the Pigpen in the coming weeks. If you have any feedback you would like to share with us about the first version of Pigpens, please make sure to visit the official FarmVille forums and let us know what you think.

In addition to pigpens, Farmville’s newest feature allows you to proudly display your accomplishments! Crafting Recipe Mastery has just been released and will reward you will Experience Points, Coins and Mastery Signs for all of your Neighbors to see! Now, you don’t need to do anything extra to start gaining levels of crafting Mastery, you just need to continue making goods at your crafting building. As your recipe level increases, you will unlock greater levels of mastery, and get an XP and coin bonus for doing so. Of course many of you have already achieved fairly high levels with some of your recipes. The appropriate Mastery stars will be automatically awarded to you for each recipe, as well as the XP and Coin rewards that accompany those Mastery stars. Mastery signs will all be placed in your gift box. You’ll also get a pop-up notice of this the first time you open your Market Stall or Crafting Building. If you are looking for a little more information on how the details of this feature works, please make sure to visit the Game Updates section of the forums for more information.

And lastly, our first installment of the Wild West Theme made and appearance this week, bringing with is some great new animals, decorations and buildings for you to decorate your farm with. The Wild West theme looks very different from any other theme we have released in the past and it is perfect for our farmers who may have a little bit of a wild side.

Now before I get into our coming soon segment this week, our friends from the iphone FarmVille team wanted me to give all of you a quick reminder about the “where do you mobile farm” photo contest. This great event ends at 11:59 pm on August 31st and you can win up to 500 farm cash for participating! All you guys have to do is take a picture of yourself playing FarmVille on your mobile device and you can win big. Head on over to the FarmVille Mobile forums for more information on this event and make sure to participate while you can!

Alright! On that note, let’s go ahead and get into the part of the podcast I know all of you skip forward to hear… it’s time for a sneak peek as to what will be coming to FarmVille in the near future.

Well, first up this week is something I know our breeders will be very excited about… Nursery barn expansion will be making its way to Farmville in the coming weeks. Along with this will be a new Wild West themed Mystery Game and more Wild West items.

And lastly, we will soon have new and improved Neighbor visits for all of our players. With the new visit system, you will be able to do more on your friend’s farms besides fertilizing. Soon, you will be able to plow your Neighbors fallow plots, collect from their animals and harvest their trees.

When doing these actions on your Neighbors farms, you will gain coins and experience points for helping and your Neighbors will also receive the appropriate amount of XP and coins when they return.

Alright folks, well that’s it from me this week. I will be back next week with all of the latest news and information from around the farm. Again, my name is Lexi and I want to thank everyone for tuning in this week. Happy Farming everybody!

FarmVille Crafting Mastery

farmville crafting mastery guide

As you know FarmVille Crafting Mastery is now available for all farmers.

To begin your Crafting Mastery just continue making your Goods. When your Recipe levels increase you will unlock more levels of mastery which will give you more XP and Coins.

Each Recipe is organized by Star Levels. The higher tier level of your Crafting Building, the higher the Craft Mastery will be for that Recipe. Each Recipe will have five Mastery or Star Levels available per each Crafting Recipe. If it seems confusing, refer to the chart below, provided by Zynga, that displays what Recipe Level is required before you can unlock a specific Mastery Star.
farmville crafting mastery guide

Zynga's Example: "If you have a 1-star Bakery on your farm, the first recipes available to you were Pumpkin Bread, Strawberry Shortcake and Spicy Muffin. You can earn your first Mastery star in those three recipes once that you reach recipe level 20. If you upgrade your Bakery to 2-star, you unlock a new slew of recipes: Patty Pan Tart, Triple Berry Pie and Peanut Butter Cookie. For these recipes you need to reach recipe level 23 to get your first Mastery star.

In order to get a second Mastery star for Pumpkin Vinegar (which requires a 4-star Winery) you will need to raise your recipe level to 39."

If you would like to check your current progress for a specific Recipes Craft Mastery, ..
Craft Mastery Rewards & Craft Mastery Signs

So, you may ask what is the point in participating in Crafting Mastery? Just like with Crop Mastery, mastering a Craft Recipe rewards you with additional XP (experience points) and bonus Coins. Not to mention, you get a cool Crafting Mastery Sign for your farm to let everyone know that you are a master crafter.

After earning your first star with a Crafting Recipe, you will be rewarded with a Recipe Mastery Sign. You can find the Craft Recipe Mastery Sign in your FarmVille Gift Box. By placing your sign on your farm you can simply hover over the sign to check your Mastery progress and what you need to reach the next Star Level.

Whenever you earn more star levels, your sign will automatically update to reflect your current mastery status.

Crafting Building Mastery Signs can also be placed in storage.

The chart below reflects the specific Recipe Mastery level with coordinating XP and Coin Rewards.
farmville crafting mastery guide

Upon earning each star level, you will be given the opportunity to share a FaceBook newsfeed notice with your FarmVille neighbors. Up to 5 neighbors can receive a free good from your post.

Remember, that any progress up to this point is retroactive, meaning that all your hard work will automatically count towards your Crafting Mastery.

Some of you may find as soon as Crafting Mastery was released you immediately earned Crafting Mastery for some Recipes by finding the Crafting Mastery Signs in your FarmVille Gift Box.

FarmVille Official Podcast - August 20th, 2010

Below is the complete transcript of this week's podcast from the FarmVille forums:

FarmVille Podcast - August 20th:

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week's installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast. My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information from around the Farm. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, and you guys will all be getting a sneak peek of what is coming to FarmVille in the near future.

So this week, the long awaited Storage Cellar finally made an appearance, bringing with it some well deserved leg room. We have already seen some initial questions from players about how the new Storage Cellar feature works, so I am going to quickly go over some of the details of this feature for all of our listeners.

The new storage cellar will allow you to store up to 500 items on your Farm once it is fully expanded. If you are level 16 or above, The Storage Cellar can be found in your Gift Box, or it can be purchased from the Market for 10,000 coins. To get started with this feature, open your gift box and place the Cellar on your farm.

To expand your Storage Cellar, you will need to collect shovels from your friends. Each Shovel that you collect will count as 1 storage space in your new Cellar.

Neighbors can send you the Shovels you need to expand your storage from the Free Gifts Page, or you can click the "ask for more" button from the Cellar's menu. Each gift sent to you from your Neighbors will grant you two Shovels. When neighbors send you Shovels, it works exactly like any other free gift. After you accept the gift it will appear in your gift box. After clicking the "use" button under the gift it will automatically be added to your Storage Cellar.

Alternatively, if at any time during your construction process you decide that you'd rather simply purchase the Shovels required for the Cellar, you can do so by clicking the "Buy Shovels" button from the Cellars's menu. You can purchase Shovels in packs of 10 for 5 Farm Cash.

As I said earlier, with the release of the Storage Cellar, we have increased the total storage capacity to 500.

As all storage on your Farm is part of one shared inventory, if you already have items stored in other buildings, they will count towards the new 500 limit. For example, if you already have 100 items stored on your Farm in existing Storage Buildings, you will only be able to store 400 additional items in the Cellar once it is fully expanded.

If you choose to not use the Storage Cellar, your Storage limit will still have increased to the new limit of 500. However, using the Storage Cellar will take up less room and provide more storage than using existing Storage Buildings.

If you wish to transfer your items from your other Storage Buildings into the Cellar, you will first have to increase the capacity of the cellar to make room for the items. If you have enough room in your Cellar, you can simply delete your other Storage Buildings and the items will automatically be placed in your Cellar. However, you will not be able to delete a Storage Building if the number of items stored within is greater than the number of spaces you have available in your Storage Cellar.

In addition to storage, you can unlock new items by obtaining shovels. As you collect Shovels, you will also gain "points". As you gain points for trading in Shovels, you will be able to unlock new items. Clicking the "progress" tab in your Cellar's information page will show you what items you can redeem with your points. As you collect points, each item you can unlock will be revealed as you collect the proper amount, and the "redeem" button will become available for each item. Clicking "Redeem" will award you the gift in return for the proper amount of points.

One important thing to know about the Cellar is that once it is placed on your Farm, the Cellar cannot be sold or deleted. It can still be moved, but once you place the storage cellar on your farm it will be a permanent addition.

In addition to the Storage Cellar, our new Summer Theme also made an appearance this week, bringing with it all kinds of great new Limited Edition items for your Farm. Many of these new Limited Edition items have great animations and fit wonderfully with anyone who may have a New England Farm or a Beach themed Farm. If you are interested in purchasing any of these great new items, please make sure to head to the Market before they disappear.

Alright! And since this week was jam packed with new releases, we want to know what you think of our latest updates. The FarmVille team is always interested to hear your feedback, so if you have any opinions you would like to share with us, please make sure to visit the Official FarmVille Forums or www.farmville.com.

Alright! On that note, let's go ahead and get into the coming soon segment of today's podcast.

First up is a feature our community already seems very excited about. Pigpens will be making an appearance in FarmVille in the very near future. Now, Pigpens will be released in two separate phases. The first version of the Pigpens will introduce a constructible building that will offer you storage for any of those poor, homeless pigs you may have running around your farm. The second version of this update will introduce truffle hunting, a feature that will allow you to trade in truffles for new items. To gain truffles, you will have to feed your pigs slop, which can be made from bushels. Once your pigs eat their slop, they will hunt for truffles on your Neighbors Farms. These truffles can be traded for exciting new prizes, including new types of pigs!

In addition to this, I am very happy to announce that FarmVille will be doing another charitable campaign for the wonderful people of Haiti. This upcoming event will allow our users to help build a much needed school for the children of Haiti, and there will be opportunities for players to participate to this noble cause without having to pay money. The FarmVille Community Team will be providing more information about this campaign in the coming weeks, so please make sure to stay tuned for updates.

FarmVille Storage Cellar a complete guide

Storage Cellar:

The new storage cellar will allow you to store up to 500 items on your Farm once it is fully expanded. If you are level 16 or above, you will receive the following pop-up upon logging into FarmVille:

The Storage Cellar can be found in your Gift Box, or it can be purchased from the Market for 10,000 coins. To get started with this feature, open your gift box and place the Cellar on your farm.

Once you have placed your Storage Cellar, click on “look inside” from the Cellar’s menu. From here, you can see your progress, how you compare to your friends and your overall storage inventory.

To expand your Storage Cellar, you will need to collect shovels from your friends. Each Shovel that you collect will count as 1 storage space in your new Cellar.

You can collect materials for your Cellar in three different ways:
1. From neighbors via the Free Gifts Menu

Neighbors can send you the Shovels you need to expand your storage from the Free Gifts Page. Each gift sent from the Free Gifts Page will grant you two Shovels. When neighbors send you Shovels, it works exactly like any other free gift. After you accept the gift it will appear in your gift box. After clicking the "use" button under the gift it will automatically be added to your Storage Cellar.

2. Ask For More

When viewing the interior of your Storage Cellar you will see an “Ask for Shovels” button, that when clicked will take you to the Friend Selector page where you can select friends to send Gift Requests to for Shovels. Each gift sent from your Neighbors will grant you two Shovels.

3. Completing with Farm Cash.

If at any time during your construction process you decide that you’d rather simply purchase the Shovels required for the Cellar, you can do so by clicking the “Buy Shovels” button from the Garage’s menu. You can purchase Shovels in packs of 10 for 5 Farm Cash.
Using your Storage Cellar:

With the release of the Storage Cellar, we have increased the total storage capacity to 500.

As all storage on your Farm is part of one shared inventory, if you already have items stored in other buildings, they will count towards the new 500 limit. (For example, if you already have 100 items stored on your Farm in existing Storage Buildings, you will only be able to store 400 additional items in the Cellar once it is fully expanded.)

Redeeming Shovels for Items:

Shovels can be used for more than just increasing the capacity of your Cellar! As you collect Shovels, you will also gain “points”. As you gain points for trading in Shovels, you will be able to unlock new items. Clicking the “progress” tab in your Cellar’s information page will show you what items you can redeem with your points. As you collect points, each item you can unlock will be revealed as you collect the proper amount, and the "redeem" button will become available for each item. Clicking "Redeem" will award you the gift in return for the proper amount of points.

Additional Information:

  • Once placed on your Farm, the Storage Cellar cannot be sold or deleted.

  • The “Comparison” Button in the Cellar’s menu will show how many shovels you have collected in comparison to your friends.

  • You may only have one Storage Cellar on your farm at a time.

  • You cannot store Storage Buildings in your Storage Cellar.
