FarmVille: How to find and add neighbors without being friends

FarmVille is all about how many people you're connected with and therefore the more neighbors you have the better. The more free gifts you can send and receive. FarmVille have released an update to help you find and add neighbors without being friends on FarmVille.

How to add neighbors without being friends on FarmVille
1. Login to FarmVille
2. Click on Add Neighbors
3. A list appears and you can start adding. This feature is also know as FarmVille friends.

How to add neighbors through 'Add Me' invites
There are a couple of places you can go to to do this
1. The official Zynga forums for FarmVille have an 'Add me' section you can go here and paste a link to your Facebook profile or for other people to find and add you. This is the old traditional route and you find a lot of serious gamers who do this.
2. You can also visit the FarmVille fan page on Facebook and leave a link to your profile for others to find and add you. Alternately you can also add a whole bunch of people who have added a link to their profile.

FarmVille Wildlife Habitat FAQ: Everything you need to know

As part of the official guides released by FarmVille comes the Wildlife Habitat FAQ. The post will cover everything you need to know like how many habitats can you have on your farm and which animals can be placed in it and how many animals can a single habitat hold.

Can I own more than one Wildlife Habitat?

Yes! You can have multiple completed Wildlife Habitats on your farm. However, you are limited to having one incomplete (i.e., un-built) Wildlife Habitat frame at-a-time per farm.

Which animals can be placed in the Wildlife Habitat?

All kinds of wildlife animals (except for babies, e.g. bear cubs) can be placed inside the Wildlife Habitat, including deer, frogs, porcupines, squirrels, reindeer, skunks, raccoons, opossums, and woodchucks.

To see the full list of animals that can be placed inside the Wildlife Habitat, click on a completed Habitat on your farm and select “Look Inside,” where the full list of qualified animals will be displayed. Animals that are qualified for the Habitat but haven’t been placed in the Habitat will be slightly transparent.

When you use an animal from your Gift Box or click on an animal on your farm to “move” it, the Wildlife Habitat will have a blue glow if that animal is qualified to be placed in the Habitat.

How many animals does the Wildlife Habitat hold?

Each Wildlife Habitat can hold up to 20 wildlife animals. Each additional Wildlife Habitat that you place on your farm can hold another 20 animals.

How long until the Wildlife Habitat is ready for harvest?

The harvest cycle of the Wildlife Habitat is 24 hours, which begins as soon as a single animal is placed in the Habitat. The timer resets once you harvest a ready-to-harvest Habitat.

Does harvesting the Wildlife Habitat count towards Animal Mastery?

Yes! The Wildlife Habitat provides an easy way to collect Animal Mastery from many wildlife animals at once with one click when the building is ready for harvest.

Do I need pairs of animals to be able to breed?

No! Once you place a particular wildlife animal in a Habitat, upon harvesting the Habitat you’ll have a chance of finding a Mystery Baby that will grow up into an animal just like the one you placed in the building.

In other words, the Habitat can help you create multiples of the animals that you already own. This is a great way to help you accelerate your way to Animal Mastery; the more of a particular type of animal you own, the more quickly you can accumulate Mastery points for that animal!

Interested in acquiring wildlife animals you don’t already have? Be sure to claim Mystery Babies from your friends in the Newsfeed! These Mystery Babies can turn into a variety of different wildlife animals, and aren’t governed by the same rules that determine what your own Mystery Babies will become.

How can I increase my chances of finding a Mystery Baby upon harvesting the Wildlife Habitat?

The more wildlife animals stored in the Habitat, the better your chances of finding a Mystery Baby when you harvest the Habitat!

Where can I get more wildlife animals to place in the Habitat?

Here are three ways to get your hands on more wildlife animals:

  1. When you harvest a Wildlife Habitat, you have a chance of finding a Mystery Baby that you can grow up into an adult wildlife animal!

  2. You can claim Mystery Babies shared by friends in the Newsfeed!

  3. You can purchase additional wildlife animals from the FarmVille Market. Click on a completed Wildlife Habitat on your farm select “Look Inside.” The animals available for you to purchase will be labeled with a “Market” button. Different sets of wildlife animals will be released in the Market over time.

How do Wildlife Mystery Babies grow up into wildlife animals?

Give Animal Feed to your Mystery Baby to grow it up into an adult wildlife animal! Click a Mystery Baby on your farm and select “Feed baby” to give it Animal Feed. The Mystery Baby’s progress to adulthood (e.g., “1/10 Animal Feed”) will be indicated in text when you hover your cursor on top of a Mystery Baby.

How can I get more Animal Feed to give to my Mystery Babies?

  • Your friends can send you Animal Feed. Ask them for help by clicking on a Mystery Baby on your farm and selecting “Ask for Feed”.

  • You can make Animal Feed in the Craftshop.

  • You can purchase Animal Feed in the Market.

Why are Mystery Babies different colors?

There are two kinds of Mystery Babies: and common Mystery Babies (with a green baby bundle) and rareMystery Babies (with a pink baby bundle). Common (green) Mystery Babies require 10 Animal Feed to grow up, and rare (pink) Mystery Babies require 30

The color of the baby bundle on a Mystery Baby hints at what the Mystery Baby will become when it grows up. You can see the possibilities for a particular Mystery Baby by first clicking on a completed Wildlife Habitat on your farm and selecting “Look Inside.” When you roll your cursor over an animal, the resulting tooltip will show you the type of Mystery baby (rare or common) that corresponds with that animal.

For animals that you don’t have, if the tooltip doesn’t show a Mystery Baby, then that Mystery Baby is not currently available to claim from your friends in the Newsfeed.

Mystery Babies: What is the difference between ones I find in my own Wildlife Habitat versus ones that I claim from friends in the Newsfeed?

Mystery Babies that you find when you harvest your own Wildlife Habitat will grow up to be just like one of the animals in your Wildlife Habitat at the time of harvest. (Note: To qualify to create a Mystery Baby, a wildlife animal must be in the Habitat from before 10% harvest progress until the Habitat is harvested.)

Mystery Babies that you claim from your friends via the Newsfeed can turn into a variety of different animals. To find out what wildlife animals you might get when you claim a Mystery Animal from the Newsfeed: Click on a completed Wildlife Habitat on your farm select “Look Inside.” When you roll your cursor over an animal and the resulting tooltip features golden rays surrounding the Mystery Baby icon, then that animal is something you could get from a Mystery Baby claimed from the Newsfeed!

Rare Mystery Babies claimed from the Newsfeed can grow up to become:

  1. Mystery Game “common” items (i.e., no uncommon or rare Mystery Game items are included)

  2. Animals that sell or have sold for less than 15 Farm Cash

Common Mystery Babies claimed from the feeds can grow up to become:

  1. Coin animals

  2. Quest rewards

  3. Animals from the Lonely Animal feature

FarmVille Super Crop Guide

Released as part of the official FarmVille guides comes the Super Crop Guide.

Super Crops have arrived! These new crops grow into super-sized crops that let you earn more coins, XP and Bushels! When you master the Super Crops, you’ll also receive a gold plated mastery sign for your achievement.

Upon entering FarmVille, you will receive the following pop-up. Click on the “Unlock now” button and you will be brought to the “Seeds” section of the Market.

There are nine new Super Crops that can be identified by their gold colored Market Card and the “Super” title at the beginning of their name.

The nine new Super Crops are:

  • Super Cotton

  • Super Pumpkin (Note: These are not the Super Pumpkins from the fan event last year.)

  • Super Yellow Mellon

  • Super Grape

  • Super Watermelon

  • Super Pepper

  • Super Strawberry

  • Super Pink Aster

  • Super Cranberry

To unlock a super crop, you must first fully master the basic version of the crop. For example, if I wished to plant Super Cotton, I would first have to attain level three mastery of the Cotton Crop. If you have not fully mastered the basic version of a Super Crop, you will be unable to plant it, and you will see the following screen when clicking on the “Unlock” button:

Once you have fully mastered the basic version of a Super Crop, you will notice that the crop is still locked in the Market. That’s because you still have one final step to complete before you can start planting!
When you click the “Unlock” button on a Super Crop you have mastered, you will see the following screen:

In order to start planting your Super Crop, you must first get the help of 6 Neighbors. To do this, click on the “Ask Friends” button. The screen above will allow you to see which Neighbors helped you and how much progress you have left. If you wish to skip this step, you can pay Farm Cash to certify the crop immediately.

The Mastery Sign for the basic version of a Super Crop will also allow you to request help from friends by clicking on it and selecting the “unlock” option from the menu. If you have Mastery Signs for basic crops on your farm that have corresponding Super Crops, they will be outlined in blue.

Once you have unlocked your Super Crop, it’s time to start planting! Super Crops have three additional levels of Mastery to complete. Upon fully mastering your Super Crop, you will be awarded with a special gold plated Mastery Sign.

Each time you achieve a mastery level, you will also be able to share packages of Super Crop seeds with your Neighbors for a limited time (7 Days). These seeds will allow your Neighbors to temporarily plant the Super Crop you have mastered, even if they would not otherwise have access to the crop. These seed packets can be found on the Free Gifts page and can be sent to any of your Neighbors.

If you receive a seed package from a friend, keep in mind that the crops still have their original level lock (for example, if strawberries normally unlock at level 20, you would not be able to use the Super Strawberry Seeds unless you were level 20 or above).

Each package you receive contains 20 seeds (this means you can plant a total of 20 super crops for each package of seeds you receive from a friend.)
In addition to the seed packages, you will also receive a one-time coin and XP bonus for each level of mastery you attain for a Super Crop. The rewards are as follows:

  • Super Mastery Level 1 - 1000 Coins and 50 XP

  • Super Mastery Level 2 - 3000 Coins and 150 XP

  • Super Mastery Level 3 – 10,000 Coins and 500 XP

As mentioned earlier in this guide, Super Crops will earn you additional coins, XP and Bushels when planted. Please find the information for each of these crops in the table below:

Each time you find a bushel from a Super Crop, you will be granted 4 instead of the usual 1. Please note that Super Crops only grant bushels for the basic version of the crop. This means that if I harvest Super Strawberries and find a bushel, it will be a normal Strawberry bushel, not a Super Strawberry Bushel. Because of this, you cannot use bushels on Super Crops to gain a Mastery Bonus.

FarmVille Trading Post Guide

This guide comes to you as a part of the official guides released by FarmVille.
The Trading Post is now available in FarmVille! With the new crop orders from the Trading Post you will be able to master your crops faster and help your friends master theirs! If you are working toward mastery of a Limited Edition crop that is about to expire, the Trading Post can give you those last few points you need to get a Mastery Sign!

Placing the Trading Post

The next time you play FarmVille, you will receive the opportunity to place a Trading Post on your farm. After you see the Trading Post announcement, the Trading Post will be on your mouse pointer and you can place it on your farm by clicking in an open space.

If you don’t see this, don’t quite have enough room on your farm, or just want to wait until later, don’t worry! You can return to your normal cursor and find the Trading Post in your Gift box or the Market for placement later.

Please keep in mind that while you can place a Trading Post on either one or both farms, however placing multiple trading posts doesn’t double the number of orders you’re able to place.

Using the Trading Post to Order Crops

Once your Trading Post is placed, you can “Look Inside” it to see what crops your neighbors have ready to trade!

When you open your Trading Post you will see a list of all the crops your friends have recently planted. Beneath each crop for each friend you will see a button labeled “Post Order” for that crop. If the button is green the crop is available for orders! Just click it and let your friend know you want to order their crop!

Completing Orders & Rewards

When your Neighbors harvest their crops, your order will be ready to claim. To do this, just go back to the For Sale screen and click on any crops with a “Claim” button under them. You will be granted some coin and Mastery XP in that crop when you claim a completed order.

Final Thoughts

It is important to know that you can only take orders for crops once every twelve hours. You only have to plant one plot for a crop to be able to take orders for it, and you do need to harvest it to complete any orders you have taken. You also have to be level five in order to place and use a Trading Post on your farm.

Pot_of_gold08
As you put Gold Pieces in your Mailbox you’ll see the gold coin meter on the left fill up. The physical look
of the pot also changes as you stuff it full of gold.
Pot_of_gold05
You can also click on the “Comparison” tab to compare how many Valentines you’ve accumulated with your neighbors.
To get one of the special exclusive prizes, simply click on the “Redeem” button next to the prize you want—if you have enough gold (the available amount of gold that is redeemable is at the top of the window) you’ll be asked to confirm the purchase.
Pot_of_gold06
If you hit “Accept” the prize will be stored in your Gift Box and you can share an extra prize with your friends.
Pot_of_gold07
Note: unlike a few of our previous item-gathering events, there will not be a second page of exclusive prizes added. These six items are pretty much it for this event.

FarmVille The New Years Ball Drop/Party Barn 2011 Guide

This guide is part of the official guides released by FarmVille. The New Year is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate it than with your friends and neighbors in FarmVille? We’re providing you a way to do just that with our New Years Ball Drop and Party Barn. It’s party time in FarmVille and you’re all invited!

The Party Barn is where you’ll be hosting your party—just build it up, then invite your neighbors over for the big party. The more neighbors you invite, the better the prizes you get (there’s no redeeming for this shindig, you automatically get the prize). Then on New Years the ball drops!

Party Prep Work

You’ll get the frame for the Party Barn for free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Party Barn frame on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later. You can be any level to place the Party Barn.

The New Years Ball Party Barn is a constructible building, so you’ll need a grand total of 24 parts (8 bricks, 8 nails and 8 wooden boards) to finish it:

Like other constructible buildings, you can acquire these parts by:

  • Asking your neighbors for these parts by posting a help request to your feed (click on the “Ask For More” button for each type of part).

  • Give parts to your neighbors via the Free Gifts page or the “Send Gifts” button.

  • Acquire individual parts by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Buy” button for that particular part). Each part is 1 Farm Cash.

  • Acquire all needed parts for the building by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase parts for the rest of the building). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the amount of parts left needed to finish the building.

  • Parts awarded through Special Delivery Boxes.

  • Using individual parts available in your Gift Box.

When you first place the Party Barn on your farm it’ll look fairly lifeless and boring:

There’s no party. However, once you get it fully constructed you can now see where the party will be going down:

You can only have one Party Barn on your farm at any one time. If you happen to sell your Party Barn or never got one, you can buy a new Party Barn frame in the Market under the Buildings tab before the end of the promotion (it should be under “New Years Ball”). The cost is 5,000 coins.

Getting the Party Started

Now you really need to invite some neighbors over for a real party. Well, you can invite them over before the Party Barn is fully built as well, but it won’t be as fun. Click on the Party Barn and select “Go to Party!”

With this display you can see how the party is going in the “Progress” tab. Right now, not too well—there’s no one to keep the pig and duck company. You can change that by clicking on the “View Guest List” tab. From here you’ll see all your FarmVille neighbors and friends all lined up, ready to be invited:

Click on the “Share” button under the ones you want to invite, and you’ll be prompted to make a post to their wall. A purple “Invited” label will appear over their profile picture if they’ve been invited, and if they’ve accepted you’ll see a green checkmark and a “Coming” label under their profile picture.

Once they accept, you will see their avatar on your farm, standing next to the Party Barn (this shows they’ve accepted your RSVP—you can click on them and the avatar will go away). When you look in your Party Barn you can see them in all their glory on the party floor! Note that if the people you invite are not your FarmVille neighbors (but friends that play), a default avatar will be shown on the party floor. Now’s a good time to become neighbors!

You will also see a button below your neighbors/friends display asking if you want to make use of extended permissions called “Allow Permissions”. By allowing this setting this will allow you to post feeds on neighbor’s walls without another prompt—it’s automatic as soon as you hit the “Share” button.

As your participants increase, you will unlock the special prizes available for the Ball Drop. No you don’t need to collect items and redeem them for these prizes; you get them automatically as you add partygoers (they’ll get added to your Gift Box).

After the Party Ends

You won’t be able to invite people to your New Years Ball Drop after January 1, though you will still be able to access it, re-watch the Ball Drop, or purchase the prizes in the Market for the month of January (if not longer). You also won’t be able to purchase a Party Barn frame in the Market. It will be storable, however.
