PDF to Word Converter (Mobile Apps)

89% of smartphone users spend their time using mobile apps, according to stats found here. Productivity apps are definitely one of the most wanted category among users, because such apps can help you solve different work-related or school-related issues, such as note taking, sending emails, collaboration with your colleagues, document management, creating invoices and similar.

One such app that falls into this category is PDF to Word Converter. Its name speaks for itself- it converts PDF files to Word which basically means the app enables editing data saved in a PDF form, by turning it into a document format that is far easier to edit and manipulate.

General Specifications of the App

PDF to Word Converter can be download on both Android and iOS platform and these are the requirements:

  • Android version 4.1 or later
  • iOS version 9.0 or later
  • Compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
  • Also compatible with any Android smartphone and tablet device

PDF to Word Features

With this app you can convert native and scanned PDF documents to Word. The app is free and there are no limits on the file size or the number of converted files. Although, there are some in-app purchases, the conversion quality is the same. In other words, if you use the free version you rely on the same conversion technology. Conversions are pretty accurate and very close to the original, but the result also depends on the original file quality. The only disadvantage of the free version is that you need to wait for one hour to get a converted file.

Once the file is converted, you will need to open it in MS Word app or any other app that opens Word files such as LibreOffice, Office Suite and others. With this app you will be able to edit text from the PDF documents and to reuse old invoices, resumes and other documents. By doing so, you will save a lot of time, because you won’t need to make a resume, an invoice or other business documents, from scratch.

PDF to Word also gives you an option to select a file that is stored on your cloud. For instance, if your file is stored on Dropbox, you can access Dropbox via PDF to Word Converter and choose the file you want to convert. Other cloud systems that are supported are: Gmail (only for iOS), Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, Dropbox, iCloud (iOS only). These cloud services used to be paid and now they are given for free.

To sum up, here are the features of PDF to Word Converter:
  • Converts scanned and native PDFs
  • Fast (paid version only, otherwise  you wait for 1 hour)and high quality conversions
  • Upload files directly from Gmail(only for iPhone), Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, Dropbox, iCloud (iOS only)
  • Batch conversion, convert multiple files at once (this is not a free option and it works only on Android)
  • You can rename the converted file (iOS only)
  • No limits on the size of the file, or the number of converted files

How does it work

Both Android and iOS version of PDF to Word Converter have very intuitive user interface. There are small differences between the user experience on Android smartphone or tablet and on iPhone or iPad. Check it out:

iOS user guide:
  • Start the app and select the file from the phone or from the cloud (iCloud, Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive)
  • Tap on the file and the conversion will start

pdf to word how to.jpeg

  • Choose to add a file from the device or from the cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive)
  • The conversion will start and you will be able to see the file converting

Twitter the micro-blogging network have just launched their micro-video app in the iStore. With the new Vine app from Twitter you can shoot and record videos and then share it on Twitter and Facebook. You however have one 6 seconds to get the job done. 140 characters was enough to make Twitter one of the hottest internet destinations. Since each Tweet cannot contain more that 140 characters. If that logic was good enough for words then 6 seconds is good enough for video. Currently only available on iOS devices (iPhone, iPod and iPad), it should be made available to Android users pretty soon.

Vine App by TwitterVine: How does it work
Once you record a video using Vine it looks more like an animated GIF rather than a video. These short videos can be attached to your Tweets and sent out to your Twitter Followers.

2. Once installed you will need to sign-in with your Twitter account or via email.
3. Hit the video camera button and press down on the view finder to start recording
4. Release your finger and the recording stops.
5. You now have the option to share your video via a Tweet or on Facebook.

My Last Wish the Death Based Social Network

Along came a spider - well not literally but started with that line to set the tone. Talking about death and your last wish can be very enlightening for some people. Although other blogs and websites have written about the creepiness about this new social network, we do not think this is so. With all the hype being built into social media and social networking sites. People constantly complain about the need for more serious stuff to be shared online. Well, here you have it, especially if you are one of those people who always want to talk serious stuff this might be a nice getaway for people to discuss the actual reality of life. Maybe inspiring some to go for a dream they might have had their whole life but never had the guts to just do it. Death always brings with it a shock and shakes people a little. It is also the one thing that can truly inspire. Steve Jobs now famous quote from the 2005 Stanford Commencement Address where he says that every morning he looks in the mirror and asks himself, 'If today was the last day of my life, would i wanna do what I am about to do today?. Perspective - something we cannot live without.

My Last Wish: How does it work.

You download the iOS app for your iPhone, iPod or iTouch and then you need to register. Once you register you will be known as a 'Fellow Wisher' and you can then update your last wish. Other user who join are also know as 'Fellow Wishers' and you get an update of all new fellow wishers who join and what their last wish is. Once you find someone whose last wish is as the same as yours. you can then get connected with them and stay in touch with them. So you get to make friends with people who have similar last wishes as yours. Fellow Wishers can share multiple last wishes.

There is a palm icon (Five) is you like the person's last wish you cna click on this and it gets added to your 'aLike Wishes'. So once you give a person a five it is like saying 'hey, we have the same last wish, lets be friends'. You can then communicate via phone or email. My aLikes shows all your wishes that are marked as  a like.

So this is a brief about how this social network works, will you join and use this social network or is it a bit too serious for you. Please let us know in the comments section below.

You first need to download the app onto your iPhone, iPod Touch or the iPad. You can then visit a place and find the associated wall. lets say you are visiting the 'Golden Gate Bridge'. You can then write on the wall and start a conversation with other people who are present there. So if you are at a stadium you can chat with all the people who support the other team. Will definitely make for very interesting conversation. It works anywhere in the world. Which means with the app you can look up places you are going to visit and see what other people who have already been there have written. The amount of information available however will depend on the number of people using this app. So if it becomes really popular you can expect to search and find some really awesome information. A wall can be created for just about any place. A waterfall, a road, a restaurant and well you get the picture. So go ahead visit a place and see if you can Wallit.

Use DataLocker to encrypt and secure your DropBox files

The popularity of DropBox has proved once and for all the importance of cloud storage. More and more people are turning to storing their data in the cloud with the benefit that it will always be available to them no matter where they are. There is however a chance that you want to store some private and confidential information in the cloud and your service of choice is DropBox. So if that is the case you just might want to encrypt those files and then store is securely. DataLocker is a service that will help you do just that. With DataLocked you can store files from your native clients like Windows, Mac, iPhone or iPad. Once you download DataLocker you will be able to then use it to easily secure files and store the same in DropBox.

DataLocker is the first product from 'Appsense labs' and is completely free to use. Currently the service is focused on DropBox and there is no information on when and if it will be available for iCloud and Skydrive.

DataLocker: How does it work
You will first need to download and install the app. You will then need to link it to your DropBox account. You can then immediately start uploading new files while encrypting them. You will also be able to browse through existing files while protecting them and adding security. You can download the Windows version from here and the iOS app from here
