eBay Lifestyle Deals: Get your daily discounts and coupons

eBay have begun testing something called 'Lifestyle deals', similiar to what other daily deals and coupon sites offer -- Groupon style. You must be familiar with this if you use daily deal sites like Gruopon, even if you have signed-up for one of these services. You get daily deals in your email account, informing of what the best deals they have been able to source for you in your city. eBay Lifestyle Deals works on the same concept. if you go to the lifestyle dels eBay site - you see that San Francisco has been listed with a number of services being offered and their daily deals. There are also a lot of other metros listed in the US. Currently available only in the US.

Companies who are into the daily deals business employ a lot of sales people who eBay lifestyle and daily deals sitemeet and negotiate with local merchants to get the best possible deals. These deals are then uploaded to the site and passed on to customers. Getting into the daily deals market is easy but growing a sustainable and profitable business out of it is a whole different thing. eBay's lifestyle deals is their first foray into services - their daily deals on physical products have been available for two years already. if you visit the site you will see a lot of offers for gift certificates and acupuncture and foods. These deals have significantly reduced costs, something eBay will need to keep bringing into the daily deal market which is already packed with the likes of Amazon, Google and Groupon.

How to use Daily Deal sites to save money and find places to visit when on Vacation

Crazeal is Groupon in India

The credit to this very original idea goes to Reddit user heycheero and the idea goes like this. Once you have decided on your travel, chosen your destination and started booking your flight tickets. Go to your favorite daily deals sites like Groupon or  Living Social and each of these sites have a presence Globally. Change your city to the city you are going to visit and then start getting deals from that city. This way you get great restaurant deals, massage deals, travel deals with places to visit. This way you get to also save on time spent researching places to visit as daily deal sites usually send you excellent deals of places to visit.

This is definitely not going to bring your bill drastically down but it will give you a fair idea on how much things cost in that city and where to eat and beast places to hang-out. If you are going to a country are you are unable to find your favorite daily deals site there. You can always use Google to get a list of local daily deal and coupon sites that operate there and sign-up. The idea is to make this work for you and save loads on attractions and outings.

Crazeal: How does it work

Daily deal of the day site Groupon is known as Crazeal.com in India. When they first wanted to expolore and establish their presence in international markets Groupon bought the site Sosasta.com in India. Since establishing themselves as one of the leading daily deals sites in India they have decided to change their Indian name and the company in India is now known as Crazeal.

The principals are the same but with a  few monir changes. Groupon in the US has a certain threshold limit before a deal becomes active. In India that does not seem to be the way to go. Once a deal is announced it is live and ready to go.

How does Crazeal work

merchants across India have a tie-up with Crazeal and offer services a huge discounts. The discount is possible because of something known as group-buying. These huge discounts and coupons can be offered becasue of sheer volume. Once a deal is announced on the site you will receive a message on your phone or in your email. Depends on your preference when you signed up. You can then claim that deal and through an online payment method pay for it. You will then receive your voucher on your mail id or phone. These vouches can be used once you reach the merchants place and you can claim your deal.

Popular deals right now are in Spas, restaurants, holiday destinations and general merchandise.

LikeBids: Win a free coupon through Facebook Like button

LikeBids is a web app that seeks to bring coupons to social sharing. Modeled along the lines of Groupon, this is not for phones but meant for Facebook. Once you like a Deal you can click on the deal and then click on the associated Facebook 'Like' button. Once you click on the Like button the deal then gets posted to your Facebook wall and News Feed. When you friends see the deal they can also claim the deal by clicking on the like button. Once a threshold number is reached on the deal. The coupon is delivered to everyone. If you are the person who has gotten the most number of likes to the deal. You can win it fro free. This might be one of the top motivating factors to spread the deal. remember you will need to share you likebid after you get your unique auction auction like. This is to enable the likes that come through your referral to be tracked.

The site is fairly new and there are just a few deals on right now. The idea however seems interesting enough and given the way people use Facebook, it will most likely catch fire. There needs to be lots of more interesting deals on to get people's pulses racing, to grab the top prize. The coupon for free.

Groupon: How does it work

Groupon is a daily deals site and by singing up with your mail ID you can receive your localized daily deal everyday. Every deal goes live but you cannot claim your deal until there is the required number of deals that have been claimed. so if too few deals are claimed by users the whole deal is off and no one gets it. So once the deal tips and there are enough people who have claimed the deals all you need to do is to pay for your daily deal, get your electronic voucher on your mobile device and present it at the business to get your deal. Groupon has also tied up with foursqure to offer instant deals. So you can now find all your daily Groupon deals on foursquare.

Started in the US Groupon has since grown in international markets. The way this happened is that there were already a lot of Groupon clones coming up in markets internationally and Groupon just went out and started buying these clones and Groupon is now available in large parts of Europe and Asia. An exampl of this would be that Groupon bought up daily deals site in India known as Sosasta meaning so cheap and through their infrastructure now have a presence in India. In fact Groupon has a large presence in Asia through all the clones they have bought up.

So how does it work
1. you signup by visiting www.groupon.com. If you an international customer you will need to find the groupon site near you.
2. Choose your city
3. Enter your mail address
4. If you find a deal you like you can claim it by clicking on the link
5. Enter your billing information. You will not be charged unless enough people join for the deal to activate.
6. You will be sent your Groupon which you can print and use like cash

There are also Groupon gift certificates which are good for any future purchase. Using the idea of collective buying power Groupon can get you deals with sometimes 90% off. This is of course done with the power of numbers and the logic is that businesses will benefit if many more people are using their services or buying their stuff. There is also a way to earn money on Groupon, whenever you refer a friend you get $10 Groupon bucks and this can be used as real cash. You need to singup for the refer a friend and get your personal referral link. You can share the same with your friends across Twitter and Facebook and if they join you get your reward. It's all about numbers and the more there are the better the deals become.

Businesses can get in touch with Groupon to offer deals and does not cost them a thing since groupon does all the advertising stuff and businesses can concentrate on what they do best. Once a deal goes live a business will immediately  receive a check and a list of customers who have singed-up for the deal. This list can be used to tick-off all the customers who have claimed their deals. Works as a win win for everyone involved.
