Here's you chance to be a co-director of a Hollywood movie.

The world has 6.7 billion people and each one has his or her own unique way of viewing the world. I remember Richard Bach in one of his books saying in live in 6.7 billion different universes. He didn't use 6.7 but I put in there for emphasis. Well if YouTube and Kevin Macdonald had their way you could capture events during the day of July 24 in your life and if you footage makes it to the final cut you will be named as co-producer as well as attend the Sundance film festival.

The movie will be directed by Kevin Macdonald (Oscar-winning director of films such as The Last King of ScotlandTouching the Void and One Day in September) and produced by Ridley Scott.( the director behind films like Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Thelma & Louise, Blade Runner and Robin Hood).

Want to take part? Here’s what to do.

1. Visit the “Life in a Day” channel and learn more about the project. Be sure to read through the steps you need to take to participate and the guidelines for creating your video(s). Also check out some of the sample videos for inspirational ideas.

2. On July 24, capture your day on camera.

3. Upload your footage to the “Life in a Day” channel any time before July 31.

Regardless of whether your footage makes it into the final film, your video(s) will live on on the “Life in a Day” channel as a time capsule that will tell future generations what it was like to be alive on July 24, 2010.

Be a part of history.

YouTube introduces Moderator and how it helps channel owners

YouTube has launched Moderator. Opening new avenues for channel owners to interact with their audience in a more direct manner. Up until now the only way people could interact with a channel was through the comments section and channel owners could not easily interact with their audience en-mass.

Now channel owners can ask questions to their audience and poll votes. Giving them the next idea and clue as to what video to create and upload next. The audience can also submit their reviews and ideas to channel owners thus increasing communication between channel owners and their audience.

Channel owners who spend time, money and  energy creating videos are sure going to love this new feature as it brings about a more personal feel to the whole thing. Channels will begin to make more sense with this new feature. Gives those users who really have something good to say a chance to be heard and seen.

Here's a video that shows you how this new feature works.

After State of the Union Obama to answer questions on YouTube

"After the President's speech begins this Wednesday (1/27) at 9pm EST, anyone will be able to submit a follow-up question and vote on others at YouTube.com/CitizenTube. Then next week, the President will answer questions in a special online event, live from the White House," Phillips wrote.
Earlier this week, the White House introduced the White House iPhone App, which delivers much of the content available on whitehouse.gov in a mobile interface. With the app, iPhone users will be able stream the State of the Union address live.

Evidently, President Obama will not be answering those questions live: the days following the speech, users will be able to submit additional questions and vote on their favorites.
Next week, although Google still has to communicate the exact timing, the top-voted questions will be asked to the president in a YouTube interview from the White House, which will also be broadcast live on Citizentube

Same-Sex marriage trial to be aired on YouTube

The public will have access to a court room trial challenging the constitutionality of proposition 8. The ban an same sex marriage in California.

Chief Judge Vaughn Walker and the U.S court of appeals for the 9th circuit ruled on Wednesday against airing the proceedings on live television but allowed it to be uploaded to YouTube a few hours later.

Two gay couples filed a lawsuit last May challenging the constitutionality of Proposition 8. Their lawyers, former Bush administration Solicitor General Theodore Olson and David Boies, who represented former Vice President Al Gore in the U.S. Supreme Court case that decided the 2000 presidential race, argue that the ban violates the 14th Amendment.

The non jury trial is to being on the 11th in San Francisco. The rare decision to allow recording of the proceeding was allowed after intense media pressure.

Opponents of the ban say it improperly altered the state's Constitution to restrict a fundamental right guaranteed in the state charter.
Ban supporters say Californians long have had the right to change their state Constitution through ballot initiatives.
