How to adjust your YouTube Video Playback Quality

On YouTube you can tweak your video playback quality according to your internet connection. If you have a fast internet connection you can tune your settings on YouTube to automatically play HD videos when they are available. You can also tune your settings to never play high quality videos if you have a slow connection.

When you switch to full screen on YouTube will automatically select high quality of HD for playback. The resolutions YouTube offers are 360p, 480p, 720p and even 1080p.

User with slow connections would like to stick with 360p and 480p. If you internet connection can handle higher speed without the video being choppy you can choose to view the highest quality video while using YouTube.

You would need to have a YouTube Account to use these settings.

How to set your YouTube Video Playback Quality Settings

1. Login to YouTube
2. With your mouse hover over the 360p with the upward pointing arrow as seen in the screenshot above.
3. Click on Settings.
The Screenshot you see below are the options that you see.

4. Select the options that suits your connection speed the best
5. You Done.
