How to access Foursquare on your Mobile Phone

Foursquare has been growing and more and more people would like to have access to it on their mobile phones.Since it is a Geo-location sort of site you will need to have Foursqaure on your phone to check in directly from the places your visiting. You can check in from anywhere and anyplace that you are visiting right now. Restaurants, bars, parks you name it. Apps are avialble to the iPhone, Blackberry, Andriod and Palm Pre. All other phones can use their Mobile Website to check-in from various places.

Foursquare has apps available for the iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Palm Pre. If you don't have one of these phones, you can always use FourSquare's mobile website or if you prefer to checkin via SMS you can send a text to 50500 (like this: @ Ace Bar ! Playing skeeball). For now SMS checkins are only available in the US.

You would first need to signup on Foursquare before you can use their mobile website. You do not need to have a smartphone to access Foursquare

How to troubleshoot FeedBurner feeds not being updated

If you find that you feeds are not being updated in FeedBurner here are a few things you can do to troubleshoot and find out what the problem is.


You can ping FeedBurner with you website address, What this does is ping FeedBurner and get your feeds updated immediately and not their regular 30 minute intervals.


Click here to ping FeedBurner now. 


If this does not work you will need to login to your account 
1. Click on the feed that your having trouble with
2. Click on Troubleshootize
3. Click on Resync Now
Remember to click on Resync Now only if you feed has not been updated for over an hour after clicking on Ping.


If this does not work you would need to check your feed validity.


You can use www.FeedValidator.org to check you feeds validity. You can go to the original site but the better option is to use it right from your FeedBurner account.

1. Click on the feed that your having trouble with

2. Click on Troubleshootize

3. Beside the option "The Fix" there is the option for your to check your feeds originial validity and to check your FeedBurner feed validity.

If you are still having trouble you would need to check the size of your feed if it is more than 512k. FeedBurner will not be able to update it.

You can also run into trouble with wrong HTML. If you are copying things and pictures off the internet and randomly posting it your blog there could be trouble. If is also advised to compose your blog in the box WordPress or blogger provides rather than using word. Some word formatting can also be trouble.

Keep in mind that tagging is very important so if the Title of you post is repeated in your Tags it can also cause confusion.

In your FeedBurner do not forget to subscribe to FeedBurner FeedMedic Alerts

How to delete Happy Aquarium on Facebook.


There are two things people are worried about. If you simply want to delete notifications coming to your wall from these games you would need to hover over the upper right hand side of the notification when it arrives and the option "Hide" appears. Simply click hide and the notifications will then be stopped.


This was you can continue your game and not get the notifications.


If you want to delete the game from your application settings you would need to do the following

1. Account
2. Privacy Preferences
3. Click on 'edit your settings' under "Apps and Websites"
4. Beside Apps you use please click on 'edit Settings'
5. Click on 'edit' beside Apps you use
5. Click on Happy Aquarium or the (X) mark beside the App
6. Click on Remove
7. Confirm Remove
8. You're done



By removing the game completely you will now no more be able to play it. So you need to decide if you want to remove the game application completely or simply hide notifications.

How To Stop your photo and social actions from appearing on Facebook Ads

There have been many complaints from people who suddenly find that there photo has appeared on a Facebook Ad. It goes a little further than that if you click on 'like an Ad' that would also appear on your recent activity. This is quiet annoying and should not be done because Facebook is making money on those Ads and technically if they use your picture that they might as well share some of the revenue with you.


So for those who would rather not have their photo published and neither have their recent social actions on Facebook Ads publishes. Here is what you need to do.


1. Login to Facebook
2. Click on Account
3. Select the option Facebook Ads (Top Bar)
4. Beside the tab 'Allow ads on platform pages to show my information to' Select 'No One"
5. Right at the bottom of the page you find the second option 'Show my social actions in Facebook Ads to' again choose the option 'No One'


With this your done and will ensure that Facebook Ads do not use your photo and do not show your recent activity like the ads your clicked on or the ads you liked.

How to hide recent activity on Facebook

Well here comes another super annoying change as a result of Facebook's new privacy policy. You do not have the ability to hide recent activity from your Facebook wall. We have been trying to find out the options but to no avail. Facebook has completely removed the option to hide recent activity from appearing on your wall.

The only other option is to go to your profile and physically delete all your recent activity this seems to be the only option available right now. There seems to be no other way. Lot's of users do not want all their activity to be published to their wall as it is really annoying.

If there are any ways you know to adjust the recent activity settings please do let us know. For now thought the only way to do it is to physically delete it from your profile.

Manage multiple Twitter accounts with one Mail ID

This comes in handy for people who have different accounts for business and personal Tweets. You know how it is. You have an account where you speak about your company and keep it official but also have another account to Tweet all your personal thoughts.

Twitter on the other hand will not allow you to create more than one account per email ID which means to create another account you would need to use another mail ID which makes things all a bit too tedious. 

So here is a simple workaround and works only with Gmail. Supposing you have a Gmail ID let's say xyz@gmail.com. You can add a (  .  ) anywhere in that username and Gmail will deliver all mails to the originial ID. So you can use x.yz@gmail.com or you can use x.y.z@gmail.com and all mail will be delivered to the originial mail ID which is xyz@gmail.com.

So this is what you use to trick Twitter. Twitter will consider xyz@gmail.com and x.yz@gmail.com as two separate and valid email addresses and even though both point to the same Gmail Inbox. Using this you can manage all your Twitter Handel's and  Twitter account from one mail ID.

Another way is  When you open an account in Gmail, you automatically get another valid email address that uses the googlemail.com domain.

So if you only have two handles on twitter, you can use the gmail.com address with one handle and the googlemail.com address with the second handle.

How To import Facebook contacts to Yahoo Mail

In addition to the option of importing your contacts for Gmail and Windows Live Hotmail users on Yahoo Mail can now import their contacts from Facebook. All Yahoo services can use this feature so If you are on Yahoo Sports and would like to share something with an old high school buddy you can do that easily with your old school contacts imported from Facebook. 


How to import your Facebook contacts to Yahoo Mail


Just go to the import contacts in Yahoo Mail and select Facebook. In addition to importing contacts from Facebook you can now also import contacts from other services. 


Yahoo seems to becoming nice to all Social Networking sites on the web.

When you click a search term in your search bar located on the top right hand corner you get  whole lot of results. With options as seen in the image above. These options are familiar to everyone who users Facebook search. The reason it is provided is to make your search experience richer and more effective. Yes when you click the web Results you can even search the web without leaving Facebook

So once you enter your search term and click enter by default people results are first but with the toolbar on the left you can now make your search experience much more targeted and explore Facebook a liitle more.

1. People. This is simple you want to see results of only people's profiles then you click on that option and get only profiles. Some people would also create profiles for their gadgets or companies and this is a sure way to find them.

2. Pages. Click on this option if you only need to find pages on Facebook that your looking for. Many people like to follow their favorite band, brand or best friends page. This option will let you explore only pages from all across Facebook.

3. Groups. Click on this option to find groups that you would like to join or just explore what people are doing with groups. You will be amazed at the creative way people are using groups. Also find some groups that you would like to be a part of. If you join a group to get the best out of it is to be an active member of the community and post to the group or add comments etc.

4. Applications. This option allows you to search for the best Apps on Facebook. Find new games, Apps for Facebook Twitter integration and what not. There are enough Application to satisfy the curiosity of all Facebook members.
