Will baby animals ever grow up in FarmVille

This Weeks podcast from FarmVille brought out an interesting uses questions. The user wanted to know if baby animals on FarmVille ever grow up. The answer to that was that baby animals as of now do not grow up but FarmVille plans to introduce a new feature to users who want their baby animals to grow up. The game creators have announced that if users choose they can allow their baby animals to grow up.

This is still in the works and the feature has not been released but soon will. So those users who do not want their baby animals to stay babies forever will now have an option to allow their baby animals to grow up. So farmers can now have the calf's and foals grow into full grown adults. The plan is to introduce this feature this coming spring and more details will be available soon.

Facebook Games 'Farmville' makes it's way to MSN Games.

Popular social gaming company Zynga has now moved their game to other platform's as well. Without relying too much on Facebook alone you can now play farmville on MSN. They have also launched their stand alone website for the game located at www.Farmville.com

Unfortunately it looks like you'll need either IE or Firefox to get this working (sorry, no Chrome or Safari). Which is just stupid, given that FarmVille works fine on just about every browser out there when you play it on Facebook. We've asked Zynga why this is ? it almost certainly has something to do with the way MSN Games is set up.

All you need to do to play the game on MSN is to head over to the Farmville page on MSN game zone and start. You do not nee Facebook connect either just start playing and it works fine.

Zynga also runs the No. 2 game on Facebook, "Café World." In total, the company has more than 230 million monthly users on Facebook, according to Inside Network. MSN Games users will play "FarmVille" through Facebook Connect, a service that links Web sites.

In 2007, Microsoft paid $240 million for a stake in Facebook, which at the time valued the Palo Alto, California- based company at $15 billion.

Microsoft dropped 79 cents to $27.84 at 4 p.m. New York time in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. The shares climbed 57 percent last year.

A message from Sid Meier!

Hello Civ Fans!

I wanted to let you know we’ll soon be looking for beta testers to help us develop a unique new way to play Civilization. Ever since we finished Civilization® Revolution™ last year, I’ve been looking at ways of expanding the Civ gameplay experience to include solo, competitive and cooperative play to take advantage of the uniqueness of social networks. We’re calling this project Civilization® Network™ and the full game will be available next year on Facebook. Civilization Network will allow you to join together with your friends to create the world’s most powerful, richest, smartest, or just plain coolest civilization. You can coordinate your strategy to win great battles, share your technology to jump ahead of your rivals, lobby your family and friends to form your own government and win vital elections, manage and grow your cities to maximize production and happiness, spy on your enemies, and work with your friends to create the great Wonders of the World. The game will offer everything you enjoy in Civ in a fully persistent environment - you can play as much as you like, whenever you like, and it’ll be free to play.

We’ll offer a closed beta of the game soon, so stay tuned for details on how you can sign-up to participate. The full game will launch in 2010. For more information about Civilization Network, including development updates and behind-the-scenes posts from me and the Firaxis team, join our Facebook fanpage here.

Thanks and Stay Civilized!

Facebook is in many ways synonymous with Social Gaming, and Facebook users are always trying to find out the latest game to try their hands at. There are new games being added constantly and some become popular while other don't.

It would surprise many to know that women are equally addicted to these games as men. A gamer with the advent of social sites is no more a geek in front of a console but people who are well settled in their jobs and playing social games. Some of the popular games are Mafia Wars, Farmville and Petville. People are willing to pay real currency for virtual points and the revenue to be generated from virtual gaming in the future could be upwards of 10 billion USD.

Social games are not restricted to any one country and come from all countries of the world. And what keeps people coming back to virtual games is the ability to play against their friends who could be scattered across the globe.

Facebook does have a list or directory of these games that is easily accessible to all. A directory where you can go through the complete list of games and choose to play new ones that you had not previously tried before. By accessing this list your can choose between new games, most popular, games recommenced by Facebook, Features by Facebook, Recently Added or Applications your may like. To find this list please click the link here.
