Use Phrozen Skype REC to record Skype calls on Windows

Skype is one webapp that you cannot do without. It offers a lot of functionality but the main feature missing, is the ability to record voice calls. This must have been something left-out by Skype for good reason. Privacy concerns must be on the top of that list. The usefulness of being able to record a business call cannot be undermined. Most business conversations over the internet can soon be lost and verbal agreements can be forgotten. With Phrozen Skype Rec however, you can now record Skype calls on Windows. It works with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. The ability to record voice calls might not be of top priority for many users but for some however it can be immensely useful. The webapp once downloaded will work in the background -- when launched it will automatically detect voice calls on Skype and begin to record. Once you're done with the recording it can be saved in .WAV format. A simple solution for your question, how to record Skype conversations? How to record a Skype Call

Phrozen Skype REC: How it works.
You would need to first download the software in a ZIP file
The program will download in two modes 1. Setup mode: To automatically install on your PC 2. Portable Mode: To be installed and only you know where the program in located
Once loaded the program will interact with the Skype API and you will need to hit the 'Allow Access' button and you're good to go
There is no start button and so when Phrozen detects a voice conversation it will automatically start recording the conversation and save it to your hard-drive.
So give it a whirl and leave feedback in the comments section below

Skype one of the most used apps both on the web and SmartPhones have updated their app. This was one of the most requested and missing features on the Skype App for iPhone, iPad and iPod. With Skype version 4.1 you can now send photos using your iPhone or iPad - with no size limitation on your photo. You can send and share photos already available on your phone or click a new one and share with all your Skype friends and contacts. The new feature is called: Photo Sharing for iOS. This also allows you to send large files and photos to friends without having to pay expensive MMS charges. Skype Humoticons: How to create your own [Facebook App]

Skype launched a campaign to bring back humanity into our world of social networking. Called 'It's time for Skype', meaning more face to face is better and brings real conversations back into the lives of people. Unlike staying in touch using 140 characters (think Twitter) and upgrade from a wall post to a first grade conversations. As part of this campaign Skype has launched something called humoticons, this is just like emoticons that everyone is used to with one little difference. You can use your own face and create a Humoticon with your own face and personality. This can be shared on a special page on Skype as well as a sharing option. There is a URL attached to every Humoticon you create so you can share it with freinds. Next time you or your pals are chatting they can use your Humoticon while chatting. Some people think this is quiet Bizarre but if you look at some of the Humoticons people are building they are quiet funny and entertaining.

The above pic illustrates classic emoticons like the wink, the smile, tongue out, blushing, devil, sky and heart etc. Now think of Humoticons as classic emoticons but with your own face bring out all the feelings and emotions of the emotion you want to portray. I can already see some people's Humoticons becoming viral on the internet. To get started you the link found at the end of this post and this is a Facebook app and if logged-in you can start immediately.

So will you create your own Humoticon and what do you think about this move from Skype - comments section below to sound off.

Skype: How to turn on your Mic

This post is because over the holidays was chatting with family from all over the world and one of them had a problem with the Microphone settings on Skype. The problem was that all the mic's on the system were working perfectly. Internal mic, headset mic and all - with all this their voice was still not carrying across the web and we could not hear the person. The problem turned out that the Audio Settings in Skype needed to be turned on. You would think that this would have been the default setting once you download Skype, it mostly is but sometimes you need to physically set it up.

How to set-up your Skype microphone
Use the Echo / Sound Test available once you login to Skype. To check if your microphone is on. When you use the Echo or Sound test service you will need to speak into your mic and if the message gets played back then you know it is working and your sound can be heard b the other party. If not there is a simple quick workaround.
1. Login to Skype
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on options
4. Click on Audio Settings
5. Under Microphone make sure that the Check box is ticked. This will turn on your internal mic and your should be good to go
6. You're done.
Please leave your comments and suggestions to continue this discussion
