Occupy has definitely become a Meme and each person is using it in their own ways to convey their message. The central them running through the occupy meme is to go someplace and protest by occupying it. The occupy meme is closely linked to Occupy Wall Street but it has meaning that can cross over boundaries and meanings. There has been religious memes on the net saying Jesus was the first occupy wall street protester in history. Now with Occupy The URL you can occupy any website you want on the internet. A silent way of showing your support to the Occupy Wall Street movement. Plus it is also a fun thing to do. Occupy Wall Street has now officially gone global. Protesters in Rome took to the street to denounce corporate Greed. The protests started in New York and then hit many other parts of the world. Protests till now have been peaceful and the numbers not too large. Rome however had a different story, people turned up in tens of thousands and stretched for miles. A small group of protesters clad in black with their faces covered broke away from the main group and started thrashing ATMs and throwing rocks and bottles at banks. Police had to use tear gas and a water cannon to help contain the rioting. other people had to run into churches and hospitals for safety. As the protesters set cars ablaze and proceeded to break bank and shop windows.  The Mayor Of Rome said that the protesters who broke away and caused all the trouble must have been goons and thugs from all over Europe who came to cause trouble and shame. Other protesters also shouted 'Enough' and 'Shame' as violence...

The Occupy Wall Street movement which has been spreading across the US and Canada has given us some photos and images that bring to light the intensity and seriousness of the movement. It has also brought to light in way protesters are handled by the police. This is something we will be covering even as the movement has now entered the third week. After the Brooklyn Bridge protest the movement seems to be gaining momentum and spreading all across the US and Canada as well. The movement which is against corporate greed does not still have a clear mandate according to some and needs to make its demands clear. In Canada a group calling itself Occupy Toronto is planning the movement and will take place across Canada. The group will descend on the city's financial district on Oct 15 at 10 am. Similar protests are being planned in  Calgary, Montreal, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Ottawa, Vancouver and Victoria. In the US there will be Occupy Boston, Occupy Oregon, LA, Chicago, Denver Seattle and other places as well.   Occupy Wall Street the campaign against rich Corporate America is finally gaining attention.  something the NYPD did not want and was trying hard to stop. Occupy Wall Street has started to trend because of a lot of police brutality that has been rampant. Something that has not been seen till now is the netting police use to heard people like cattle. We also saw videos of police maceing innocent women. There is another video on the net that shows police arresting children on the Brooklyn bridge. The total number of people arrested till now on the Brooklyn bridge has risen to 700. Last week cops arrested over 8- people at the Union Square Occupy Wall Street protest and one name that stood out was Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna - who point blank pepper sprayed a couple of women who were already in police netting and peacefully protesting.
