Zynga has confirmed to gamesutra that they will be opening a new development studio in the Los Angles area. The company is Famous for creating popular social games, Farmville, Petville and Mafia Wars. Located in Marina Del Rey, the studio will be San Francisco-headquartered Zynga's second satellite studio. Last year, it opened a Baltimore office spearheaded by Alpha Centauri and Civilization II designer Brian Reynolds, co-founder of Big Huge Games. "Zynga LA will be very much like our Zynga East office in Baltimore where it will be a studio for our new games," a Zynga rep said to Gamasutra.
