The Trump-Xi Beijing Summit: What the Smiling Handshakes Won't Tell You

On Thursday, Donald Trump will walk into the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, shake Xi Jinping's hand, and declare it a great meeting. There will be announcements. What is actually happening in Beijing this week is something more consequential and more uncomfortable than the summit theatre will reveal: two leaders of two deeply mutually dependent superpowers, both of whom need this meeting to succeed for entirely different reasons, sitting across a table in a world that has already moved past the assumptions that defined their last nine months of negotiations. Google wants to stream TV for a fee

That's what is being reported. that Google is in talks with major players to allow it to live-stream TV shows the day after it airs for a Fee. Found on allthingsd "YouTube already lets users watch a smattering of TV shows for free, with advertising. Now it envisions something similar to what Apple and Amazon already offer: First-run shows, without commercials, for $1.99 an episode, available the day after they air on broadcast or cable." However there maybe a stumbling block with Google wanting to stream it and not allow consumers to download the videos. All shows will be shown without ads. At the same time, Apple itself is rumored to be breaking away from the pay-per-show model and could offer a $30 subscription that would provide unlimited or near-unlimited TV shows each month.
