The Digital Iron Curtain: Is Iran About to Crash the Global AI Boom?

For decades, the "Middle East crisis" was a headline about crude oil, tankers, and the price at the pump. But as of March 2026, the stakes have shifted from the engine to the motherboard. While the world watches drone strikes over Isfahan and naval skirmishes in the Persian Gulf, a more quiet, more lethal war is being fought over the very building blocks of the 21st century: semiconductors. The "Digital Iron Curtain" is falling, and it isn't just dividing East and West—it’s threatening to starve the global AI revolution of its most basic needs. The Helium Hostage: Why the Strait of Hormuz is the New Silicon Valley We’ve long been told that the South China Sea is the "front line" of the chip war because of Taiwan’s dominance in fabrication. But the ongoing U.S.-Israel war with Iran has revealed a terrifying bottleneck: The Middle East is the lungs of the semiconductor industry. To make the world’s most advanced 3nm chips, you don’t just need engineers;...

That guy who owns @Qwikster on Twitter

NetFlix might have decided to rename their DVD rental service Qwikster but there is a problem. Netflix owns the web domain rights for Qwikster but the company failed to get all the related rights. There is no use if you are a large company and you don't have an original Twitter handle. The Twitter handle is owned by Jason Castillo and he is really gaining followers. A few hours ago when we checked he had about 6000 followers. It has not crossed 9000. Now that is a lot of traction and Jason has suddenly started using the account after discovering his fortune. You might be wondering what Jason Castillo is talking about, you guessed it how much he is going to be selling his Twitter Handel for. He is getting a lot of attention people offering his images to be used as his profile pic. The fun part of the whole thing is that he is not a domain squatter but already had this Twitter Handel before the NetFlix fiasco.  An original post by Sociolatte

Facebook Subscription Recomendations

Facebook have taken their subscription a step further. You now get recommendations as to who to subscribe to. This feature works the same way as on Twitter and on Google+. If you click on the 'Suggested Subscriptions' link you get to see a list of people to follow. Now this list looks to be the same set of people who get recommended on Twitter and on Google+. You can bet you're going to see Kevin Rose and Robert Scoble, with minor deifferences here and there for e.g on the Facebook list the top of the list is Randi Zuckerberg the sister of Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zunckerberg. Now this is taking the fight straight to Twitter and Google+. Yes, Facebook is getting criticism for the copycat nature of the whole thing. But it is a free world and companies feel quiet free to copy features that works best for others and use it for themselves. All is fair in love and war. How to find suggested people to subscribe to on Facebook.  Visit this link to see people who Facebook r...
