If you do not want your Spotify notifications from showing up all over your friends Facebook ticker and you want to stop Spotify from posting to your Facebook ticker. This is what you would need to do.

If you want to completely remove yourself from this whole circus you can click on File and then 'Disconnect from Facebook'. Following the above mentioned methods will help you stop Spotify from either broadcasting the songs you're listening to. It will also stop you from receiving Spotify updates in your sidebar.
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I get only the option to hide that one particular Spotify notification.
ReplyDeleteI don't get any options at all as Spotify doesn't work in my country. So I get all the notifications and can't join in and can't switch it off!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, you are right when I wrote this post I took it for granted that you can turn off all third-party apps notifications from the Facebook sidebar. A good example would be games like Farmville and CityVille. Click on the game and turnoff all sidebar notifications. Apparently you cannot do it for Spotify. FB wants to get into the music scene and forcing us to get all the updates in the sidebar from Spotify.
ReplyDeleteGreat post... took me a minute to figure out what you meant.
ReplyDelete2. Click on *any* Spotify notification...
Worked perfectly. Thank you... so annoying.
WHAT is SPOTIFY????? All I see is the ticker on the right, and I want to make sure others can't see what I post on there, so how do I remove myself on there? I don't see a "cog" icon either!
