Wyclef Jean posted a personal statement on YouTube to address concerns about his Yele haiti Foundation. A Washington Post article raised concerns about the Yele Foundation's "fiscal scrutiny," first reported by The Smoking Gun.
The Yele Haiti foundation's tax returns have apparently raised concerns. The Foundation was first registered 12 years ago and has remained active. They have however first filed taxes only in August of 2009.
Wyclef in this videos says it's not about charity money but about his unprecedented commitment to Haiti as he is Haitian. And this is what he lives sleep and breathes with. He also said he started this NGO to make an impact as there have been a whole number of NGO's there for the past 75 years but there was not making a real impact. He is committed to the people of Haiti
