The Trump-Xi Beijing Summit: What the Smiling Handshakes Won't Tell You

On Thursday, Donald Trump will walk into the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, shake Xi Jinping's hand, and declare it a great meeting. There will be announcements. There will be numbers — billions of dollars in Chinese purchase commitments, a new bilateral mechanism with an important-sounding name, possibly a joint statement on Iran. Trump will post on Truth Social. Markets will rally briefly. Pundits will argue about who won. None of that will tell you what actually happened. What is actually happening in Beijing this week is something more consequential and more uncomfortable than the summit theatre will reveal: two leaders of two deeply mutually dependent superpowers, both of whom need this meeting to succeed for entirely different reasons, sitting across a table in a world that has already moved past the assumptions that defined their last nine months of negotiations. Sylvester Stallone joins Twitter

Sylvester Stallone now has a Twitter account and already has over 20,000 followers. Stallone wrote on his Twitter Bio: Actor, writer, director, I've had a great ride with my buddies Rocky and Rambo and now The Expendables. Well, a little bit of self promotion does no harm, why else would celebrities want to be on Twitter.


One of his posts reads
"Just enjoying being number one at the box office two weeks in a row. Looking forward to this weekend. Tough competition". 


He later said he still wants Bruce Willis as the Super Villain for Expendables II. 


Had dinner with Bruce Willis last night. I want him in EXPENDABLES II as a super villain. What do you think?


There is also some advice on making action films. "The hardest part of making action films is attempting to inject heart and soul.. bullets are easy , emotions are hard. LIKE LIFE ITSELF"


The actor is doing good with interacting with his audience. The fans are pouring in to his Twitter account. What, with movies like Rambo and Rocks under his belt. If you haven't seen these movies of his you've been living on a different planet.
