Well thats the argument. I think it pays to look at the prefix "De" and :Un". Well the suffix "De" would mean to remove or reduce. Therefore destabilize would be the opposite of stabalize. And the suffix "Un" would have more to do with undo. Think of the words undress, unfold, unable, unblock.
