Searching for answers, ask Facebook questions. This is how Facebook has been introducing a new feature to users. This kind of works like Yahoo Answers, where users ask questions that get shared with everyone across the platform and other users are free to answer. This new feature has been released for some beta testers but not ready for users across Facebook. The Facebook questions feature will appear on the top left hand column of your homepage. Once you click on "Ask Questions", your questions will be shared with your friends and also all the other 500 million Facebook users. So you get answers from everyone including your friends, which makes it a personalized affair.

How does Facebook Questions work?

These are some answers provided by Facebook.

To ask a question to the community, just click the "Ask Question" button at the top of the homepage. You can also ask questions about your friends from their profiles, similarly to how you would post on their Walls.After you ask a question, you have the option of adding a photo or a poll.

To help show your question to the most relevant people and ensure the best answers, you can tag it with a specific topic. For instance, if you have a question about what type of camera you should buy, you could tag it with "Photography." If you want to find the best bike routes in the area, you might tag it with "Cycling."

The questions you ask will be shown to people who have expressed interest in the particular topics you tag, as well as to your friends and friends of friends.

You can browse answers from people with deep knowledge on a topic or click "Follow" under any question to receive a notification each time someone submits a new answer. 

You can browse through all of the questions to help find ones you may have never thought to ask. Just select "Everything" from the "Questions about" drop-down menu at the top of the application, and click "Next Question" to start exploring questions and sharing your answers.

BlackBerry BlackPad

What is the BlackBerry BlackPad?


Research In Motion (RIM) makers of the popular BalckBerry Smartphone, plan to introduce a new tablet computer similar to the iPad. This according to Bloomberg. The new Blackpad is reported to be similar in size to the iPad, would include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and allow tethering to BlackBerrys. An addition to this new device would be a front facing camera, something not found in the iPad. 


There is no official statement to this effect from the company. So how much truth there is to this story remains to be seen. 


RIM is stepping up its competition with Apple on multiple fronts. The company is hosting an event in New York Aug. 3 at which it will debut its BlackBerry 9800 slider phone, according to one person familiar with its plans. The device will feature a full touchscreen like Apple’s iPhone and a slideout Qwerty keyboard to allow for easy e-mail typing, the person said.


It has also been reported that RIM has taken over the domain Blackpad.com. 


So if RIM is serious about taking on Apple and Apple type devices will they succeed. Given that Apple now has a cult like following. Apple is looked at like a religion these days with Steve Jobs the prophet leading with his staff and giving the people the Tablet. This Moses type device seems to belong only to the prophet who brought it down to ordinary people. 


To expect people to leave a device that has the Apple logo and buy something else seems even sacrilegious theses days. More than anything else, Steve Jobs and Apple are respected by people because he was thrown out into exile and came back to bring change into people's lives. 


That is not to say that other companies can't succeed. But companies who copy will always be known as such. It is better to bring out something new and different that just imitating. Though it is not wrong. Something new and revolutionary will garner more sales and more good will for the product. 

FarmVille Crafting Building Ribbon Requirements

With the release of FarmVille Crafting buildings, There are now ribbon achievements to go with it. As you craft recipes, purchase crafted goods from your neighbors and sell your own crafted goods, these tasks will now count towards 3 new ribbons.

These new FarmVille Crafting Building Ribbon Achievements are:

Crafty: Crafting Goods will count towards the Cunning Crafter Ribbons.

Super Salesman: Selling your Crafting Goods will count towards the Super Seller Ribbons.

Best Buyer: Purchasing Crafting Goods from your FarmVille neighbors will count towards the Best Buyer Ribbons.

Twitter helps you discover who to follow

Wondering who to follow. Well, depending on your interests there are scores of Twitter account out there, that you could follow. It also takes time for you to check out each account before you decide to follow. Twitter has decided to do something about it and bring to you suggestions on who to follow. This algorithms in this new feature "Suggestions For You" which can be found under the "Find People" link uses "The suggestions are based on several factors, including people you follow and the people they follow" according to Twitter. 


Beside these suggestions are two links. The "Follow" link and the "X Hide" link. If you choose to follow a particular account you could click the follow link. If you choose not to follow you can click the x hide link and in the future this user will no more be suggested to you to follow. 

In addition to this new feature. You will begin seeing recommendations for similar uses when you visit another account's profile. So when you visit another user's page you will also see these kind of suggestions to help you discover new people and friends to follow on Twitter. 

So login now to find new people to follow. Twitter has taken care of the questions. How to find people to follow on Twitter. 


 Twitter will also be launching an API so third parties can provide these suggestion features in your favorite desktop, mobile, and web applications, too.

So this is what you need to do in FrontierVille if one of your family members go missing. Especially during diner time. You need to get your Dinner Bell or Triangle out and summon your lost family members for dinner. This is a good way to bring discipline in the family and make sure no one goes missing out there on the Frontier. You can buy the dinner bell for 5 horseshoes and you get 50 XP. The Dinner Triangle can be got for 10 wood and 10000 coins. It yields 100 XP. So head over to the store now and check under decorations.

If you'r wondering what to do with all those racks of Vegas chips. The good news is that all those racks of chips you have been collecting can be exchanged for use during the game. You can use the Rack of Chips to buy special loot for jobs and fights. The more you have the better for you to level up and you get all the help in terms of Loot in exchange for your Racks of Vegas Chips. So keep collecting as many as you can. Treasure Isle Monkey Palace is now live

Yahoo also seeks to join the bandwagon of viral content. yahoo Giggles is something so simple but set to drive a lot of internet traffic to their homepage. Just go to Yahoo.com and click on the exclamation mark next to the Yahoo logo. Remember to tun the volume up on your computer first. If this does not bring a smile to your co-workers faces Yahoo says your working in the wrong organization. 

YouTube increases upload limit to 15 minutes.

everyone who has uploaded video to YouTube or even tried to upload videos to YouTube know there is a 10 minute maximum limit on the length of the video you can upload. This restricted users to creating videos that were a maximum 10 minutes long. YouTube has announced via a official post that, that limit has now been extended. Users can now create videos that last for a maximum of 15 minutes. You can now truly get your own 15 minutes of fame on YouTube.


This comes as good news for all non-partners of YouTube. Partners are people who upload original content and therefore do not have the time restriction. Like TV shows and documentaries uploaded by the people who made them and they therefore have all the rights to the content. 


What's changed, Siegel said, is that YouTube can now handle longer videos because of an improved Content ID system, the YouTube technology that major movie studios, music labels and 1,000 other content owners use to manage their videos and block unauthorized versions.



Tag your video with “yt15minutes,” upload it by Wednesday, August 4, and YouTube will select a handful of people to truly gain their 15 minutes of fame by featuring them on the YouTube homepage in a future spotlight.

One final note: if you’re uploading a video that was previously rejected for being too long, you’ll have to go into “My Videos” and delete it before attempting to upload it again. Thanks and happy uploading!

How To Use GoogleLookup in Google Spreadsheets

Just like Microsoft Xl google Spreadsheets also has a lookup function. XL has the vlookup The V in VLOOKUP stands for vertical. Use VLOOKUP instead of HLOOKUP when your comparison values are located in a column to the left of the data that you want to find.


Google Spreadsheets are becoming more and more popular because it is so easy to use and you can open documents from Gmail directly into Google Spreadsheets. 


Here is a brief explanation on using this feature given by the Google Docs Blog. 

To use the GoogleLookup function, enter the following formula in the desired spreadsheet cell:

• =GoogleLookup(“entity” ; “attribute”) where “entity” represents the name of the entity you want to access and “attribute” is the type of information that you want to retrieve.

For example, I want to know the atomic number of gold. In this case, gold is the entity while atomic number is the attribute. In the desired cell, I enter =GoogleLookup(“Gold” , “Atomic Number”). Be sure to include quotation marks around both the entity and the attribute.
The atomic number of gold, 79, then shows up in the cell in which the formula was entered.

After experimenting with one GoogleLookup formula, I’d like to apply the formula to a larger list of elements, and also get information on the atomic weight. Instead of typing the formula out like before, I want to click the cell of the first entity in my list, in this case it’s gold. Next, I want to reference the cell in which I name the attribute I’m looking up, in this case, atomic number. Then I want to freeze the appropriate rows and columns with the “$” symbol.
Freezing the appropriate row and column allows me to drag the formula across to the “Atomic Weight” column and down the other rows to apply the formula to all of the other entities. When I apply the formula to all of the other cells, the results will show.
Keep in mind that while the GoogleLookup function knows quite a bit, it doesn't know everything. Although not all of the formulas you try will work, we encourage you to experiment. When GoogleLookup isn't sure if an answer isn't the best one for your entry, you'll see a dialog box with a handful of possible answers that you can choose from. Just select the cell and click More Options... to select a different value.
Here are a few more examples of entities you can access using the GoogleLookup formula, and a few popular attributes:

• Countries and Territories (like "Burkina Faso"): population, capital, largest city, gdp
• U.S. States (like "Tennessee"): area, governor, nickname, flower
• Rivers (like "Amazon River"): origin, length
• Cities and Towns (like "Chicago"): state, mayor, elevation

Social City How Districts Work

How do districts work?

From now on, when you load the game you will see your entire City, which includes all 9 districts. When on this screen, your City Name and Total Population (population of all districts added together) will be shown at the top right corner. Hovering over each district will show that individual district's population. At this time, there is no way to share population or happiness across all districts.

Right now, only two districts are available to be opened, the original and the new Southeast district. All other districts will appear as locked, and the requirements will not be made available until we update the game to unlock them. 

If you would like to link roads from one district to another, unfortunately that is not supported yet. You are also only able to look at one district at a time at the closest level, meaning you can only zoom in to one district to edit and collect at one time. When you are at this level you will not be able to see any other districts.

While you cannot share population and happiness across all districts, there are some things that can be shared. All of your items and buildings, for example, can be moved between districts. This includes factories, residences, leisure items and more. Your total population (population of all districts added together) will be the counted for unlocking more factories.

If you want to move between districts, you can click on the green map icon at the top right side of the page. When you get to the large map view, click on the district you wish to visit.

FrontierVille How to stop your character from doing a job

FrontierVille has a new stop button out to help you stop your character from doing interactions you did't want to do just yet. So in case you started to tend to animals or crops you were not ready tom actually to. Then there is a red stop button located right next to your backpack. Click that and you can stop your character from performing actions.

YoVille Surfing Photo Booth Coming Soon!

YoVille have announced via they blog that there is a great coming soon feature called the Surfing Photo Booth. 

Want to get an item that is fun to play with and let’s you brag to your friends?! Well the chance to do so will be coming very soon. We’ll be releasing a Photo Booth in game that will allow you and your friends to interact with and post feeds to show off your wave riding skills. Let’s check out a sneak peek of this Photo Booth and what you can do with it!

To interact with this item you will need to either have one yourself or go to a  friend’s home (who owns this item). To get a Photo Booth of your own you’ll have to purchase it when it becomes available in game. Once you have a Photo Booth to interact with you will click on it and your avatar will jump on the surfboard. Then a picture will be taken of your avatar catching some waves. You’ll then be prompted to  “Share” your photo. Make sure to click share and show off your skills on your Facebook Wall.

If you are the lucky owners of a surfing Photo Booth you’ll be able to have photo shoots any time you want! As an added bonus when your friends come by and use your Photo Booth and post a surfing feed you’ll make some extra coins too! So not only can you play and brag with this item but can also make some coins even when you are not around!

If you don’t have a Photo Booth but want to have a surfing session of your own you still can! Keep your eyes out for your friend’s Surfing Feeds and click (in) to be taken to your friend’s Photo Booth. Remember to share your photo so you can show off your surfing skills and get your friend some extra coins!

FarmVille Crafting Buildings Guide

This is meant as a guide for those who would like to know all about crafting buildings. This guide was released By Lexilicious (Community Manager) on the FarmVille Forums.

Crafting Buildings:

If you are level 25 and above, you will be able to turn your bushels into crafted goods with the new Crafting Buildings feature.

Upon logging into FarmVille, you will see the following pop-up.

This brief tutorial explains the basic functionality of this feature. Scroll your cursor over each of the boxes within the pop-up to see more detailed information about how Crafting Buildings work.

Now it is time to pick your profession. There are three types of Crafting Buildings available; The Winery, Bakery and Spa. Each building features its own unique set of recipes you can use to create crafted goods. 

If you did not pick a profession when the Crafting Buildings preview was released, you will see the following pop-up.

This pop-up shows you how many of your friends have selected each type of building. Clicking “What is this” will give you more detailed information on each of the buildings. Once you have decided on your profession, clicking “Yes, Place” will close the pop-up and let you place your new building on your Farm for free.

If you already selected a profession in the Crafting Buildings preview, you will receive a different pop-up. If you are happy with your initial selection, simply click “yes, place”. If you would like to choose a different profession at this time, click “choose another”. This will bring you to the menu mentioned above where you can select the building of your choice. 

Upon placing your building, you will be able to post a feed to your wall informing your friends of your new business. The first 5 friends who click on this feed within 24 hours will receive 1 of the following items: (Please note: The item your friends receive from your feed depends on the profession you selected)

• Baker : Lvl 10 Triple Berry Pie
• Spa Host: Lvl 10 Relaxation Candle
• Wine Maker: Lvl 10 Tropical Wine

Your Buildings Recipe menu will automatically appear once you have posted a feed. 

In this menu, you will start with one level 10 good that is 1 minute from completion. You will also see one empty crafting spot. 

Clicking on “Make a good” will bring you to your recipes menu. Here, you will be able to make your first crafted good. Depending on what profession you have selected, your default recipe will be different. Click “Make it” from the bottom of the menu to create your good. 

Remember, to make recipes, you need to collect bushels from your friends. These bushels are the key ingredients for your goods. If you would like more information on obtaining Bushels, please review the following thread:

Once you have made your good, it needs time to cook. Click on “Make Goods” to return to the main menu. Once you have done this, you will see that the level 10 good you started with is now complete. Click on the “Finish it” button. 

Once you have done this, you will receive the following pop-up that will allow you to post a feed to your wall. The first three neighbors who click this feed within 24 hours will get 1 of the type of good made. 

Clicking on “goods I am selling” from the crafting menu will show you the goods you currently have for sale. Selling goods improves existing recipes and unlocks new ones! Each time you sell a good to your Neighbors, you will receive 1 recipe experience point. 

Down the bottom of this menu is your “Sales Report”. This report shows you what goods you have sold and how many were purchased. If Neighbors purchased from your store while you were away, a bouncing arrow will appear over your building. Clicking on this will show the following menu.

You earn 90% of the sale price of items sold. The Daily Sales Report will display the amount of total coins and experience earned in your absence. 

If you wish to make a thriving business, you will need to level your Building. The level of your Building determines the number of crafting spots you have available for use. Leveling your building will also unlock new recipes. 

You can level your Building with Farm Cash by clicking the “Cash Upgrade” option or you can level with coins by unlocking the option. To unlock the coin option, you have to level a certain amount of recipes. Please see the requirements below:

• 1 Star: Level up recipes 6 times + 50,000 coins
• 2 Star: Level up recipes 18 times + 100,000 coins
• 3 Star: Level up recipes 27 times + 400,000 coins
• 4 Star: Level up recipes 36 times + 1,000,000 coins

Leveling a recipe is quite simple. Each time you make a recipe, it will count towards your level progress. Simply keep making goods of that type to level your recipe up. The higher level your recipe is, the better your crafted goods will be. There is no limit on how high you can level your recipes. 

Currently, your Crafting Building can only be upgraded to 5 Stars. Once you have a 5 star Building, the buttons to level with coins/cash will disappear.

When you level your Building, you will receive a pop-up that allows you to post a feed to your wall. The first three neighbors who click this feed within 24 hours will receive a level 3 crafted good.

In addition to selling your crafted goods to your friends, they can also be traded for rewards. To access goods that you have in your inventory, click “Use” from the crafting menu and select “Goods”.

This menu will display how many crafted goods are in your possession. Please note that you can only have 200 Crafted Goods in your inventory at a time. This capacity limit only pertains to your Crafted Goods. Your Bushel inventory does not count towards this capacity.

If you click the “use” button underneath a good, you will trade it for fuel. The higher the level of the crafted good you use, the more fuel you will get. You can see your fuel gauge increase within the inventory menu.

Now that you know how to use your own crafted goods, it’s time to move on to purchasing goods and bushels from your friends. There are two different ways you can visit your Neighbors Buildings.

1. From the Crafting menu, click “Buy”. You will then see the option to select “Shop for Goods” or “Shop for Bushels”. Clicking “Shop for Goods” will bring up the following menu.
   
   
   
   
   
   From this menu, you can select the type of good you would like to purchase. Clicking “select” underneath a good will bring up another menu that will automatically display the highest level goods for sale first. Select the good you want to purchase and you will be brought to the following screen:
   
   
   
   
   
   From this screen you can not only purchase your desired good, you can also shop for bushels from your Neighbor’s store if they are available.

1. When visiting a friends Farm, simply click on their crafting building to open the menu(s) mentioned above.

Upon purchasing an item from your Neighbor’s store, you will receive a pop-up allowing you to post a feed to their wall informing them of your actions. 

The first 3 Neighbors to click this feed within 24 hours will receive 1 good of the same type as the one you purchased. 

Remember, Goods purchased from your Neighbors can also be traded for fuel, so make sure to visit their shops often.

If for some reason you wish to delete your Crafting Building, all progress on the level of the Building and recipes will be saved. However, you will lose all goods that are being sold in your store. If you wish to purchase a new Crafting Building, it can be purchased from the “Buildings” section of the Market for 100,000 coins, provided you do not have any other Crafting Buildings on your farm at the time. If you wish to purchase the two additional Buildings, they can be bought for 80 Farm Cash apiece. 

You may only own one of each type of Building at a time.
