Google Store Chromezone opens in London [Pics]

Official known as the Chromezone, Google has opened a retail store in London. It is a small store and essentially a shop within a shop. The store measuring 285Sq-ft was opened within a PC world Store in Tottenham Court Road. The store will run for three months until Christmas before the company comes out with more details directions on where they want to go with their retail business. Google said that according to research within the company it realizes that 80% of computers are sold in stores. This low-key launch signifies the importance of retail stores and the effect it has on business.  The Chromezone store sells mainly Google Chromebook computers along with other related accessories. If successful this experiment will turn into something huge in the future and we can expect to seek Google Stores popping up in many countries.

Google UK head of consumer marketing Arvind Desikan says. 'It is our first foray into physical retail. This is a new channel for us and it’s still very, very early days. It’s something Google is going to play with and see where it leads'.

Google will open the next Chromezone retail store in Essex on October 7 and more will follow as part of the pilot project. Google also says, those shops will be designed in the same “Googley” spirit as the new London PC World store.

How to stop Facebook from tracking me

Australia blogger Nick Cubrilovic first pointed it out. Facebook cookies do not stop tracking you once you log out of Facebook. He discovered that the cookies that are placed with your computers browser was supposed to stop tracking user activities once they click on the logout button. That was not happening as the cookies were modified to continue following and stocking you. many Facebook engineers came on his site and stated that this was not true and the cookies were there just to enhance user experience and not to follow users around. You can read the entire post by Nick over here. There also happens to be one more problem when you visit sites that have the Facebook 'Like' and 'Share' button just to name a few, fb knows and can track you.

So how to stop Facebook from tracking all your internet activities after you log-off.
1. Once you finish using the site make sure you clear web history from your browser.
2. Use a separate browser for all Facebook interactions.

Whether Facebook is actually following you around on the internet is hard to say but if you would like to be careful the above two steps are something you can follow. There is a lot of noise being made on the internet right now regarding these privacy issues. We will keep you updated with more on this story as it rolls out.

How to adjust your activity log settings on Facebook. Choose what stories appear, who you want to share with. Delete posts and how to remove an App from your account.

Google's 13 Birthday Doodle

Google turns 13 and they have a Google Doodle to help celebrate and announce their turning 13. The doodle itself is very quiet and nondescript. Not something loud with animation as we have seen recently from the other doodles released by Google. This one simply announces the 13th Birthday and a cake with 13 candles surrounded in the background with the letters that make up the name Google. All this within a picture frame of sorts. Google must be celebrating their birthday with a little bit of celebrations since their fledgling social networking site Google+ is not even a year old. The guys at the Googleplex will need a wait for quiet some time more to see whether their social network with really take off with the masses. There has been phenomenal growth till now but the masses need to move in and that has not yet happened. So happy birthday guys!!!

They have a large collection of of online photos that publishers can use to make money by monetizing the same on their websites and blogs.
How does Stipple work for publishers

Once you place a Stipple dot on your site or blog they become interactive and people can then hover over the images and click the links. Works very well for the fashion and Tech industries. So once a users clicks on the images publishers stand to make money.

The next time a reader mouses over a picture, dots will appear semi-transparently, letting them discover that additional information. If the reader is interested in something, mousing over the corresponding dot will reveal the added details in a minimal overlay that immediately disappears once their mouse leaves the dot.

The rumor is absolutely false but it is amazing as to how quick and how fast it has spread. You can find the rumor or status updates no news feed across Facebook and also on Twitter. With a lot of news sites reporting that it is completely false the rumor has started to die down. But if you have come here to find out if it is true , you know know that it is absolutely false.

Facebook Vs. Google+ Internet Meme [Pics]

Bringing you the meme of the day.

Facebook Vs. Google+ internet meme. I'm sure by now you know that Facebook users are getting a timeline and a whole new profile. This is fun, as the whole week there have been announcements for both Google + and Facebook. The war has been heating up adding more excitement to the lives of online users. The story in town this week is the changes that have been happening at Facebook and similar announcements from Google+ especially that it wen tout of field trial this week and is now open to everyone. Will there be any other big announcements this week or will it end with these latest updates from the Facebook f8 developer conference. This war between the two social giants have spawned a kind of meme that is spreading across the web like fire. Here are the meme images below.

Facebook Timeline: How it works

After the f8 developers conference the main attraction that came out was the Facebook will get a new Timeline. In other works you are getting a whole new profile page and you had better like it. well it is not really all that bad and has a way of converting all Facebook users into curators of their Facebook lives. With the new profile you have space which is being called a cover. Therefore right on the top of your profile you now have more space to place a large photo of yourself, as a welcome sign. The Facebook timeline has been divided into three parts.

What is Facebook Timeline and how does it work
1. The Cover: Represents a wide and open space to fill in with your best image. Will definitely become a big hit with Facebook users as people find more and more creative uses for it.

2. Your Stories: This section allows you to highlight your most memorable posts and photos etc. This can be from the beginning of time when you started using the service. Now if you have been a longtime user of Facebook and there are posts in there you do not want your current friends to see, you can get rid of it. Facebook will give you the option to choose what shows up. With this service you can see everything you have done from the time you joined Facebook and arrange things in such an order that when people visit your profile they can see a timeline of your events and all that you have been up to on Facebook. There are privacy options so no problem. Let your creative juices flow. You can choose to highlight certain likes and friends and a whole lot of options.
3. Your Apps: Show your friends which movies you watched on Netflix, what music you have had on repeat and a whole other range of Apps. This part of your profile will be to share all your activities related to movies, music and travel etc. Pretty neat and this is really social sharing.

UK English Trending on Twitter

UK English is still a TT on the worldwide trending topics. The reason is because people are saying if you change your Facebook language settings from US English to UK English you get the old Facebook back. By Old Facebook what is meant is the normal old news feed that people are used to. The latest update to the news feed on Facebook is that fb have divided the news feed into two sections Top Stories and Recent Stories. This has not gone down well with many users. These updates from Facebook are aimed at bringing the social networking site back to relevance and also prevent many uses from leaving. All this has started after the launch of the social site from Google - Google+. Google Plus is now out of its field trial and anyone can join. In fact when you visit Google there is arrow pointing straight to the + button on top inviting users to join.

How to get back your old news feed on Facebook
You Can't but if you still want to try here is what you need to do. Account Settings > Change Language > English UK.
