How to add the Twitter Tweet button to your blog or website

So here is how it works.

Twitter has launched the new Tweet Button. This can be easily placed on websites and blogs in three easy steps. Users who want to share content can now use the tweet button and this is how it works.

When you find content you link and you see the new Tweet button all you need to do is click the tweet button. If you have already logged in to Twitter. Twitter will add a link and  @mention an account the website specifies ahead of time. After that you can add your message and hit tweet. Another great feature of the tweet button is the ability to follow specific account after the tweet is sent. These accounts have already been chosen by the website you found the tweet button on. This is done by the website to suggest users to follow. After you close the overlay window you can continue viewing the exact same site you fond the tweet button on. You will see the number of times a link has been shared enabling you to see how popular the content it.

A nice thing Twitter has done is not to leave out third party link sharing services like TweetMeme. By far the most popular link sharing services that has been used by Twitter users till now. So the number you see beside the Tweet button will be an aggregation of links shared through other services as well.
