Mac OS X Lion: what it is and features


Popularly referred to a OS X Lion this is the desktop and server operating server operating system for Macintosh computers. OS X Lion was released on July 20, 2011 and in the last two days has sold over a million copies. The Operating System is not being sold in retail stores but available online through the iTunes store and comes at a cost of $29.99. it comes with a lot of features found in iOS such as easy navigation display of installed Apps, support for the Mac App Store. The Mac Os X lion put simply is the operating system that run all Mac computers. Apple also claims it is the world's most advanced desktop operating system (OS X 10.7). Apple also says that the OS comes with over 250+ new features.


Some of the top new features of OS X 10.7 include. 



Multi-touch gestures there are now more fluid and realistic gesture responses, including rubber-band scrolling, page and image zoom, and full-screen swiping.

There is also now support for full-screen Apps, which means you can run your apps using every inch of your mac display.


Mission Control- enables you to view all that's happening on you Mac. With a single swipe of the trachpad users can go to mission control and view full-screen apps and get a bird-eye view of everything on your system

Mac App Store which works just like the App Store on iPad - this is the place to find thousands of free and paid Apps to download and installs in just one step right to launchpad.

Launchpad gives you access to all the apps on your mac.

Resume allows you to easily restart an App after you have closed it right from that point so you do not need to start from scratch all over again. 

Auto Save so that uses do not need to be worried about saving their work it is now taken care of automatically.

Versions this is a new feature that keep taken snapshots of your documents as you work and saves it. So you will be able to go back to a previous version any time you choose.

Airdrop lets you share stuff with people nearby wirelessly. 

Mail now comes with full widescreen display and message snippets and a new favorite bar for easy access to the folders you use most often.
