FarmVille Valentines Mailbox

With Valentines day around the corner get ready to celebrate it on FarmVille.

Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away so it’s time to get started collecting those Valentines in your Mailbox! As you collect Valentines through your Cupid’s Castle or by gifting, you can then redeem them for exclusive rewards like the Giant Teddy. Stay tuned because more prizes are on the way!

You’ll get your little Valentine’s Mailbox free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Valentine’s Mailbox on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later. You’ll need to be level 5 or higher in order to place and use the Valentine’s Mailbox.

Once the Valentine’s Mailbox is on the farm you can click on it, then select “Look Inside” to see this window:

Valentine’s Mailbox works like many of our other item-gathering style events in FarmVille. You acquire Valentines through various methods, then “Use” them to place them in your Mailbox. As you accumulate Valentines in your Mailbox you can redeem them for exclusive Valentine’s Day-related items.
You can acquire Valentines by:
  • Harvesting your Cupid’s Castle.
  • Requesting a Valentine from your neighbors directly (by clicking on the “Ask for More” button).
  • Receive a Valentine from a neighbor who uses the Free Gifts page (or click on “Send Valentines”).
  • Purchase 5 Valentines at a time by clicking on the “Buy Valentines” button (for 5 Farm Cash).
  • Click on a Valentine-related feed from a neighbor.
As you put Valentines in your Mailbox you’ll see the gift meter on the left fill up. The physical look of the Mailbox also changes as you stuff it full of Valentines.

There are five different types of Valentines you can give or receive from your friends:

They all count as a single Valentine in the Mailbox.

You can also click on the “Comparison” tab to compare how many Valentines you’ve accumulated with your neighbors.

To get one of the special exclusive prizes, simply click on the “Redeem” button next to the prize you want—if you have enough Valentines (the available number of Valentines that are redeemable is at the top of the window) you’ll be asked to confirm the purchase.

If you hit “Accept” the prize will be stored in your Gift Box and you can share an extra prize with your friends.

There’s also a brand new quest called Love is in the Air! If you manage to get your favorite pig the sow of its dreams you can get some great rewards!

Stay tuned, because many more exclusive gifts are on the way!

FrontierVille how to trap groundhogs

The Groundhog trap, this post is part of the guides by FrontierVille to help you trap Groundhogs and keep them on your homestead as pets.

The Groundhogs are out in full force! Trap groundhogs with groundhog traps to find Phil and Fred, the friendly pet groundhogs! Be sure to upgrade your traps for maximum effectiveness!

**Buy the trap in the Market to generate the mission**

After you purchase the trap from the market, place it on your homestead. You can buy more than one trap for multiple areas on your homestead.

Build the trap using these items:

Now that you've built your trap you will be able to move it around your homestead. Click on the trap to bring up a menu of options.

*Selecting "What is this?" will bring up the following box that will provide information on the trap.

*Selecting "Arm Trap" will arm the trap with the carrot and open it up for the next groundhog that comes close. Do not arm your trap after you see a groundhog, the trap will not work for that varmint. Once armed you cannot move your trap.

*When selecting upgrade you will get a menu of a Groundhog Crew that you can staff by asking your friends.

*Clicking on "View Perimeter" will highlight the area that the trap will cover. You can view the perimeter before you arm your trap and move your trap if necessary.

Upgraded Perimeter: Upgrading your trap will maximize your coverage to an 8 tile radius.

Now you are ready to catch some groundhogs! Arm the trap BEFORE you harvest. If you don't arm before you get a groundhog, you won't be able to trap that one, and you'll have to clobber it. Now that your trap is armed and ready, you won't be able to move it so make sure your crops are nearby so you can catch a groundhog. You will need to re-arm your trap each time you want to trap another groundhog.

Once a groundhog is trapped you may be rewarded with one of 2 pet groundhogs. You can choose to keep Frontier Phil and Frontier Fred or share it with your friends!

Tips for successful trapping:

  • Upgrade your trap to cover an 8 tile radius
  • Move your trap around BEFORE you arm it closest to harvest areas
  • Place multiple traps for best coverage
  • You can move your crops closer to the trap at anytime

How to keep your Facebook account secure

Facebook has a number of security settings you can use to help keep your FB account secure. Especially if you access Facebook on shared or public computers, when travelling or using unsecured wireless networks. There is also the feature that allows you to access Facebook with a secure connection. You can activate https to ensure that your FB usage is encrypted and cannot be intercepted by unauthorized third parties. This really helps users who access Facebook from coffee shops etc.

There is also the feature of login notifications. So if someone accesses your account from an unauthorized device you can quickly reset your password and take other necessary steps to secure your account. There is also the feature of sessions, what this does is shows you your recent activity and when you account is being used. So if you have last logged in from a friends computer and forgot to logout, you can see your recent activity and quickly logout.

Did Wikileaks, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube bring about Tunisia's revolution

Story so far: Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, the Tunisian leader who fled the country after more than 23 years of dictatorship rule, may have fallen because of WikiLeaks and Facebook and the whole social media revolution.  This is what the Telegraph has to say "Mr Ben Ali may also have been the first victim of Wikileaks. Cables by an American ambassador giving colourful descriptions of the lives of luxury pursued by his family, and the business empire it controlled, were eagerly emailed around the country, despite a repressive system of censorship.

Descriptions by other ambassadors of other leaders' political and personal attitudes have not been much less graphic.

On the plus side, protesters also seemed to understand that despite the deaths of scores of rioters, there were limits to how far modern leaders could go in maintaining their rule by force. Maybe that was also a lesson of the crushing of Saddam Hussein, who knew no such limits, by George Bush and Tony Blair.
"

Protesters have now taken to Social Media to share the latest happenings in Tunisia. Facebook pages have been created, Tweets on Twitter have started flying and YouTube has videos on the riots and protests in Tunsia. t's really nice to see how far dictators can go in a modern world. Well, not too much, as we can see from the way events are headed.

Tweets from Twitter.

Deadly riots engulf Tunisia as interim leader sworn in

LA Times has this to say:
As such, the Internet has been the largest source of documentation of the protests, much of it provided  by the demonstrators themselves, despite Tunisia's strict censorship of the Web.

Of course, given the nature of the Internet, information about the protests can range from propaganda to earnest documentation of the reality on the streets, and a critical, skeptical eye is needed to intelligently take in the flood and diversity of reports online.

The blog NDItech DemocracyWorks remarked on the situation, writing that despite remarkable levels of censorship the protesters "have been assisted by external online activists, notably the collective known as Anonymous. Allies of the regime have reportedly engaged equally enthusiastically, utilizing phishing, censoring, and hacking against activists."

Read your Facebook news feed like a newspaper

PostPost is your Facebook newspaper, what this little App does is allows you to login using FB and then pulls all your wall content shared by your friends and you and arranges it for you to read like a newspaper. See what your friends want you to read. Once everything has been arranged you can still use the like and comment button and not have to leave the page at all. Kind of interesting to read you wall posts like this. Anyways your wall is called a news feed and it is fitting to read it like a news paper. The application also arranges everything very well and you do feel as though you are reading a real newspaper, especially the way stories, pics and videos are arranged. It also helps bring clarity to your news feed and you can see what is most happening among all your friends.

Check it out now.

How to remove, delete or hide photos and vidoes I've been tagged in on Facebook

Remember the saying what happens on vacation stays on Facebook. Well many disasters can be avoided by timely action. There have been many photos and videos people have been tagged in that has actually cost them their jobs. People we are connected with are from all walks of life. Some people on your friend list might by you co-workers while one of them might be your boss, your connected with family and pretty much everyone you know in life. While a friend of yours might tag you for fun in a an embarrassing photo or video, it might be watched by your co-workers and your boss and actually land you in trouble. By now I think you get the point.

How to remove a a tag from a photo or video you've been tagged in

1. Find the photo or video you wish to remove the tag from
2. Below the photo you find a link (Remove Tag)
3. Click that
4. Your done.

How to hide/Remove a photo or video you have been tagged in.

1. Hover the tagged photo you wish to hide or remove.
2. A small 'X' should appear in the upper right hand corner of the photo which you need to click
3. After you click the X button, Facebook will display a confirmation message. Asking if you would like to hide photo. You need to click it. After you do so, people will only be able to see it if they go to your photos menu and have the right permissions.

This way you can stop bad photos tagged with you from appearing on your main home page.

The best way to prevent anything bad happening is to adjust your photos and videos I'v been tagged in settings.

How to adjust your photos and videos tagged in settings.

1. Log into Facebook
2. Click on Account
3. Click on Privacy Settings
4. Beside Photos and videos I' tagged in click on edit settings.

5. Here you can choose everyone, friends of friends, friends only or find further options by clicking on custom. If you choose friends only, then photos and videos tagged by you can be seen by friends only. This logic applies for all other options.
6. If you click on Custom where only you get to see photos and videos you've been tagged in. You can also choose to make it visible to certain people or hide it from certain people. Please choose your options carefully and remember to click save when your done.

The safest way to prevent a disaster on FB is to be safe and set your tagged in settings to "only me" this way you prevent others from seeing a photo that should not have found it's way to Facebook. This also prevents others from tagging you wrongly and sharing something that is better kept only among friends.
