That is how the Apple iPad's story is panning out an Twitter. The Tweeps of Twitter have somehow gotten amused with the name iPad. I guess when Apple first thought of the name they did not have any female marketing executives. Because the first thing that comes to mind when you hear iPad will make one half of the population cringe. Anyways that was a reaction that should have been expected but was it overlooked?. Did the name iPad for this device fit so well that the other aspect of the name which kind of relates to that part of the drug store where most of us males just walk by.

So anyway the Tweeps on Twitter have gone all the way with calling the next device iTampon. The updated version of the iPad will probably come with wings.

#iTampon is now trending on Twitter and will keep you updated if the idea's get more creative.

What are your thoughts on the name Apple choose to name their internet device?.

Check out Steve Jobs unveiling the iPad video.

You can also turn it any way round and the screen adjusts itself. Access your e-mail and if you would like to compose a message a keyboard pops up right on your screen that is almost life-size. Yes, you can use an external keyboard if you would want to. Store all your cool photos and access them anytime. So when your visiting a friend all you need to carry is your iPad to show of your recent vacation pics.

You can watch YouTube on it and yes YouTube in High Definition.

Nebraska man pleads guilty to 2008 DDoS attack on the Church Of Scientology.

A Nebraska man has admitted that he participated in an attack in the Church of Scientology's website.

In a plea agreement signed Friday, Brian Thomas Mettenbrink, 20, said he downloaded custom software from a message board controlled by the anti-Scientology group known as Anonymous with the intent of inflicting damage to the COS, or Church of Scientology.

"Defendant used that software to, without authorization, access the COS websites at such a high rate that it impaired the integrity and availability of the COS websites and the computer system where they were hosted," the agreement stated.

He is scheduled to formally enter his guilty plea in court next week, according to a release issued by the US Attorney's office in Los Angeles.

Anonymous launched the campaign against the COS after the organization demanded websites pull a video of Tom Cruise that was shot at an church awards event. Tactics used in the campaign included nuisance phone calls to COS premises, denial-of-service attacks, and monthly protests outside COS facilities. Members of the loosely-affiliated group are known for wearing Guy Fawkes-style masks during protests.
The plea agreement said Mettenbrink and prosecutors agreed that 12 months of incarceration was an appropriate sentence, but the judge will have the final say.

Anonymous members formally declared war on the Church of Scientology in January 2008 after the secretive religious group tried to suppress a creepy Tom Cruise video produced for Scientology member

How to watch the State of the Union address on the go.

If your on the go and cannot sit in front of the TV but you would still want to watch the State of the Union Address the first option is to head over the White House Web site.

YouTube will be airing it on it's Citizentube channel. Facebook is also going to stream the event live.

If you are not in front of a computer or a TV you could the White House iPhone App.

"The White House App also lets users stay up to date with the White House Blog," Cole said, and will provide on-demand video of White House events.
"In the coming weeks, we?ll also launch mobile.WhiteHouse.gov, a mobile-ready version of WhiteHouse.gov that is optimized for any Internet-enabled mobile device, including many other phones," he added.
Obama relied heavily on the Internet during his presidential campaign for organizing, fundraising and communicating and has created MySpace and Facebook pages and a Twitter feed since entering the White House.

After State of the Union Obama to answer questions on YouTube

"After the President's speech begins this Wednesday (1/27) at 9pm EST, anyone will be able to submit a follow-up question and vote on others at YouTube.com/CitizenTube. Then next week, the President will answer questions in a special online event, live from the White House," Phillips wrote.
Earlier this week, the White House introduced the White House iPhone App, which delivers much of the content available on whitehouse.gov in a mobile interface. With the app, iPhone users will be able stream the State of the Union address live.

Evidently, President Obama will not be answering those questions live: the days following the speech, users will be able to submit additional questions and vote on their favorites.
Next week, although Google still has to communicate the exact timing, the top-voted questions will be asked to the president in a YouTube interview from the White House, which will also be broadcast live on Citizentube

Bill Gates spotted dancing.

Bill Gates has taken to it he joins Twitter, starts a Facebook page and launches a website to share his thoughts. Now he gets jiggy with it.

"He gyrated in a VIP booth until 2 AM," a "spy" told the Post's Page Six--a gossip item, so take it with a grain of salt. "Everybody was snapping photos of him until his security rushed him out the back door after he tipped a waitress $500." Society blog Guest of a Guest has photos! Looks like Gates was fist-pumping, "Jersey Shore"-style!

Google's voice App arrives for the iPhone.

Google has realeased an App for the iPhone. Yes, Google voice has now come to the iPhone. google.com/voice/m.

The new Web service works on iPhones running the 3.0 operating system. It also works on on Palm's WebOS for user with the Palm Pre.
The new mobile-specific Web site for Google Voice is app-like in key ways. It's fast and it can use local storage, so it doesn't have to load in your entire Google Voice inbox every time you launch it. There's a dialer and a directory (tied in to your Google account) for looking people up. And, finally, you don't have to deal with Google Voice's dial-around service (where, to make a connection, the Google Voice service dials both the person you are calling as well as your phone). Through some telco trickery, Google Voice dials out from your phone, and displays your Voice account's phone number as the caller ID the phone of the person you're calling.

US prohibits Truckers and Bus drivers from Texting while driving.

on Tuesday the federal government barred truckers and bus drivers from Texting while driving. The US transportation department feels that this will make people safer on the road. Which heavy rigs and buses are also mounted with on-board computers the department will issue guidelines for this also. Multitasking while driving greatly increases the risk of accidents.

"This is a giant step forward for safety on our roads, but we must do more," Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said of LaHood's action. "We need the administration to support our ban, which does the same thing for cars and mass transit that they are now doing for trucks and buses."

Truckers and bus drivers who violate the rule, which is effective immediately, face civil or criminal fines of up to $2,750.

Many truckers regularly use those computers while driving, even though some companies discourage them from doing so. Research shows that such multitasking greatly increases the risk of a crash.
The department said that it was still working on additional regulations that would govern the use of such computers, as well as when truckers are allowed to use cellphones for conversation.
The federal agency said that it wanted to start by issuing regulations banning texting. The agency said that such a ban represents a reinterpretation of existing safety rules governing interstate truckers and bus drivers but does not mark a wholesale change in such rules.

Chinese Government acuses the US of starting a Hacker Birgade in China.

A newspaper of the Chinese communist party published an article accusing the US of mounting a "Hacker Brigade in China". And says that are using YouTube and Twitter to apparently wage online warfare. They also said they do not need lessons from the united states.

With Google threatening to pull out of China and the US government backing them up and asking China not to censor results on the web. This seem to be fast developing into a war of words.

More of all this will come to light once President Obama gives his state of the union address and how and if he does address the issue of internet in China.

How to find a job on Twitter

Recent studys have show that if you have been very busy and spending a lot of time on Twitter you probable need a job. So we have compiled the latest offerings to help you find a job right here on Twitter.

1. TwitterJobSearch.com . or also know as twitjobsearch.com
This is a job search engine based on Twitter. There are hundreds of recruiters and companies out there on Twitter that a right now advertising for jobs. This site lets you search for jobs based on parameters. e.g you can search for executive job New York and it will list all the Tweets mentioning executive search based out ao NEw York. They also have a list of advertisers that have already been posting their jobs on the site

2. The latest tool that job hunters can use to find openings is called JobDeck, a new product from TwitJobSearch and TweetDeck, a desktop Twitter application.
TwitJobSearch scans Twitter for job postings by paying attention to the context in which employment-related keywords appear. For example, if a Tweet links to a story about the construction industry losing jobs, that should not show up on the list. If a Tweet says there is a job listing for an assistant to the vice president, the search engine needs to categorize it under openings for assistants, not vice presidents.
"If someone has 20 followers and they say, 'We're thinking of hiring a new sous-chef' and a link to the restaurant blog, their 20 friends would know," said William Fischer, co-founder of WorkDigital. "But somebody could come to our Web site, put in 'restaurant work Bay Area' and see it."

But -- let's face it -- this is all about Pac-Man, the first smash hit in the history of home gaming, and still the best-recognized game character in America.

Holy Triest! Pope urges priests to go forth into all of web 2.0

The theme for his annual World Communications Day message, "New Media at the service of the Word," saluting technology in the service of evangelism, was released Saturday. The event is May 16.

...to the new communications media, the Lord can walk the streets of our cities and, stopping before the threshold of our homes and our hearts, say once more:"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me."

The pope has urged your priest while still in seminary to become familiar with new media out there. Use the available resources to spread the good news.

"The spread of multimedia communications and its rich 'menu of options' might make us think it sufficient simply to be present on the Web," but priests are "challenged to proclaim the Gospel by employing the latest generation of audiovisual resources," he said.

"Priests present in the world of digital communications should be less notable for their media savvy than for their priestly heart, their closeness to Christ," he said.

Steps to create Facebook Ads

#OMGFacts Twitter Trend and Controversy.

16 year old Adorion Deck who started the @omgfacts page located here. http://twitter.com/omgfacts. in September of 2009 and amassed more that 300k+ followers spoke with ABC news.

Deck mined the internet and started posting little know facts about everything from celebs to electronics and just about everything. He was followed by all kinds of people who enjoyed his daily dose of #OMGFacts

But on Monday, Twitter taught the high school junior a lesson he'll never forget. After he posted a controversial Tweet on Dr. martin Luther King

MLK Post Creates 'Firestorm' of Criticism

"Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spent his last night on Earth having sex with two women," he posted.
And with that, the barbs started to fly.
"Unfollow @OMGFacts for their crude tweet about Martin Luther King Jr yesterday!," posted one tweeter.
"What a disrespectful way to dishonor MLK," posted another.

After realizing what he had done he deleted the Tweet and temporarily deleted his twitter account. It is now back up but no updates #OMGFacts will be an a hiatus he said.
He later said that all this success had got to his head and had started saying things to the public without thinking about things first. Twitter has taught him a lesson if you have people following you you better be aware of what you say and make sense of it too. You just don't throw things at people and think it will all be in good humor or anything close to it.

This is a lesson for all Twitter users I guess. Twitter gives you success and you had better handle it with care.

Steve Ballmer signs a Mac Book Pro. Running Windows?

Thanks to Appleinsider we learned that on a visit to Tennessee's Trevecca Nazarene University for a meeting of the Nashville Technology Council, Ballmer Microsoft's Chief executive  was approached by a long-haired youth who politely asked him to autograph his MacBook Pro.

While meeting with a group of students, one of them asked the multi-billionaire: "Mr. Ballmer, would you sign my laptop?" The inquiry earned laughs from the group, as well as as the Microsoft executive. "It's got Windows on it," the student said, "I promise."

"Oh yeah," Ballmer said sarcastically, before taking the MacBook Pro and signing it with a marker. The autograph came with a note: "Need a new one?"

"It's all yours," Ballmer said as he handed the Apple machine back to the student.

Well that is the one do not open it. Because that is how this program works you get a mail with a catchy heading and a link for you to open. Once you open that link this malicious program can begin to work. So if you get an e-mail with a link that sounds to good to be true. it probably is. You need to be cautious when opening e-mail attachments.

Gregg calls it spearphishing: "They target the user with an e-mail  that would appeal to them, one that leads to a site that launches malicious code onto your system." And the IE 6 exploit makes it particularly easy to slip that code on your computer.
Staying on top of current security patches, using firewalls, updating Web browsers and running intrusion detection software is the first part of staying safe. But since most attacks rely upon spearphishing or some similar end-user exploit, Gregg suggests a training program that would warn users that if an e-mail link looks too good to be true, it probably is -- don't click on it.

On Thursday, the code that was used to hack Gmail accounts in China and led Google to threaten to close shop there was posted to malware-analysis Web site Wepawet. By Friday, security site Metasploit had posted a demonstration of just how easily the exploit can be used to gain complete control over a computer.
Metasploit is intended to let security professionals test out security threats.

The first Tweet from Space has arrived.

Oh yes this is definitely a first. Made possible by NASA who gave space station astronauts direct access to the web. Called by NASA as the ultimate wireless connection. T J Creamer an astronaut working on the Space Station sent out this Tweet.Previously Astronauts had to send an e-mail back to earth before news could spread. Now the just access Twitter and make the best use of it

Hello Twitterverse! We r now LIVE tweeting from the International Space Station -- the 1st live tweet from Space! :) More soon, send your ?s

Facebook's Building a new $180 Million Custom Data Center.

Facebook announced via Jonathan Heiliger that Facebook is building a new custom built data center, at the cost price of $180 million.

"When Facebook first began with a small group of people using it and no photos or videos to display, the entire service could run on a single server. However, as the site expanded to different colleges around the U.S., we needed to add more servers and data center capacity to keep up with the increasing number of people who were joining every day.

Initially, as most Internet startups do, we leased data center space alongside other companies in the same building. As our user base continued to grow and we developed Facebook into a much richer service, we reached the point where it was more efficient to lease entire buildings on our own. We are now ready to build our own."

Jonathan also spoke about energy efficient technologies that would be used

"Energy-Efficient Technologies
Along with making sure Facebook operates quickly for you, we wanted to minimize the environmental impact of our new facility and its energy costs. To best achieve those goals, we will use several energy-efficiency technologies, including:

  • Evaporative cooling system: This system evaporates water to cool the incoming air, as opposed to traditional chiller systems that require more energy intensive equipment. This process is highly energy efficient and minimizes water consumption by using outside air.
  • Airside economizer: The facility will be cooled by simply bringing in colder air from the outside. This feature will operate for between 60 percent and 70 percent of the year. The remainder of the year requires the use of the evaporative cooling system to meet temperature and humidity requirements.
  • Re-use of server heat: A portion of the excess heat created by the computer servers will be captured and used to heat office space in the facility during the colder months.
  • Proprietary Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) technology: All data centers must have an uninterruptible power supply to continuously provide power to servers. The Prineville data center will use a new, patent-pending UPS system that reduces electricity usage by as much as 12 percent."
Facebook is definitely taking a tighter control of all their users data and would like to handel everything in-house. The New Data Center will also allow them to better protect their servers and therefore better protect their users. Facebook was a small websites without any videos and photos, users by a few people. Now it has more than 350 million users woprld wide and shows no signs or letting up in it's growth. People are shoring photos, videos, openions, playing games and helping each other. This means that the are tons of data on FB servers. All of this data is what is converting the website into gold and this needs to be protected.

Facebook looks like it is taking everything seriously. They are also cutting out Ads from Microsoft as they would like to handel their Ads by themselves. As you will know FB ads are very different and creative. Soemthing not to be seen on other sites.

Facebook has a lot of creativity and technology to come up with and implement. All for the good of it's users. They have been active all the time better trying to understand their users and implem, ent such things as are relevent.
